I was lucky to be rear-ended by one of their drivers on Dec 22nd,, right before Christmas,,, and this driver managed to cause a 4 car accident, not to mention my car was the only one totaled. I unfortunately only had liability insurance and since it is no fun getting into an accident, I thought this company would take care of me and keep in contact with me-WRONG!

I have googled this company and I have not came across any positive reviews. When the claims adjustor that was assigned to my claim didnt call me, I called her. She seemed annoyed that I was calling and that this happened right before the holidays and they probably couldnt do anything until after the first.

It took almost 2 wks for Phoenix PD to make the DR available, and even though their driver was clearly at fault, they would not accept responsibility until getting a statement from him, or the policy holder,, I still do not know if the driver is the same as the policy holder. Claims adjustor Rachel S. does not answer her phone and has not returned any phone calls to me-when I told her I need a rental, completely ignored and company has not done a thing for me.

More than 3 wks after the accident, theyve finally claimed responsibility, though they still havent called me. I heard this thru my carrier,,, but of course there isnt enough coverage to pay for all the damage their driver caused-estimates for only 2 cars (not including mine)are OUTRAGEOUS, 9K, almost at the policy limit , and I think there is some fraud going on.

One car was a total piece of junk, 1990 Buick, and the other car had minor bumper damage. Doesnt make any sense. We are all gonna get screwed, me especially. I will not get even half of what my car is worth so now I get to go after the driver in civil court.

**Claims adjustor Rachel has not returned any calls to me or my attorney either.*** They took possesion of my car Jan 7th and it has still not been evaluated, and it is now Jan 19th. I have been forced to retain an attorney now with the treatment I have gotten. I also plan on writing a complaint to the Insurance Board and I will ask for an audit of my claim also-they clearly do not want to pay. Theyre taking their sweet time, knowing I dont have a car and this is adding insult to injury.Do not insure with them and hope you do not get hit by one of their drivers.

It is now been 90 days since I got my car totaled by one of their insured, and claim is still OPEN,,, however theyve finally sent my attorney a Declaration of Damages and their justification as to what my vehicle is worth-the good news is it looks like they are going to pay me almost what it's worth-keep in mind my attorney had to threaten a bad faith lawsuit to get them to respond- apparently the two vehicles they were claiming were delaying everything, have been fixed for a while and they know I am desperate to get paid, so this has been delayed on purpose. Now, the adjustor says no checks will be distrubuted until all of the signed releases are back-yup, Im going to wait even longer for my money. I am not anticipating getting the check in my hands until mid-April. We will have to stay on top of this until I get paid. This has been such a mess. Do not cancel your full coverage insurance to save money folks- it is not worth it. If Coast National insurance was free, I still would not recommend insuring with them. And if you get hit by one of their drivers, you need to know your options,, do not put up with bad customer service and rude adjustors-contact your state insurance board on advice and see an attorney if possible. This company is a known bad-faith insurer.

This is abhorring-do these people at Coast national care about their jobs in this economy? Apparently, no. My attorney's last communication with Coast Nat'l was about two weeks ago,, they told him the value of my car and they were waiting for someone else to get theirs fixed-come on, my vehicle and another one were totaled out,, it should not take this long for this one other person to make their minor repair,, they will not pay me until everything is done. My atty and his paralegal have called the adjustor and her Supervisor, Charlotte, and left messages as to when I can expect to get paid for my car,, and neither have returned any calls. I spoke to a former insurance adjustor online and he said this company is probably "punishing me" for retaining an attorney (I had no choice in the matter) and they're purpusely dragging this out. According to him, they need to atleast keep me or my atty informed as to what the hold up is, and they should have told me by now what they plan on giving me for my car. he did agree that this was a "typical insurance company" but by now, he feels I should have been paid for my car. The fact that they are not professional enough to return phone calls or keep us informed can lead me to come to the conclusion: they are angry I obtained an attorney and this is what I get. The adjustor stated I should of not retained an attorney until I got paid for my car,, and then he could handle the bodiy injury part completely seperate. I called the state insurance board, and the supervisor told me my attorney needs to start legal action and a formal complaint against Coast National if I don't receive a settlement check for my car within the next 30 days. So here we come!
