I have to say that this is indeed a sad situation. That a group of physicians would feel that they are above the law and have maliciously and intentionally set out to destroy one's (my) financial future. Of course there are always two sides. They will say (and have said), that I violated the written contract, and thus the entire agreement is null and void. This written contract was signed by Coastal Medical and me on June 1, 2008. The portion they said I violated was perhaps the most important clause for which I would never violate. Why would anyone intentionally do something to harm themselves to such a degree of devastation I am not sure? Frankly, I am not that dumb. According to Coastal, I did and they are right so they are under no obligation to comply with any other bullets in the documentmust be nice.

Anyway, their sleep center now occupies the former space of my business, Tollgate Sleep Disorders Center, Inc. A business which took eight years to build. Unfortunately, I became ill and was no longer able to continue my role as President. That is when I contacted Ms. Diane Texiera, a representative for Coastal Medical, Inc. We agreed upon the terms and Coastal Medical slid into my location at 400 Bald Hill Rd, Suite 529, Warwick, RI. They gave me a non-compete clause as well. This stated that I would not work for any other sleep center in Rhode Island...I assumed I would work for them. Well, they suddenly had no use for me. Not one employee in their center had the experience and credentials such as me but unfortunately there was no work. Not only did they give me no work, they didn't pay me for work I performed-a measly $600.00 but that's not the point now is it? So, this supposedly professional, ethical, physician run company intentionally and maliciously stopped me from working in Rhode Island.

It gets better actually. Or worse as far as I am concerned. By assuming my former business, Coastal agreed to keep the medical recording equipment and the brand new Konica Minolta Copy Machine. By keeping them, the agreement also specified that they would pay for them. They never paid a dime on either. Nor the rent for June (a mere $3500.00). So, they performed sleep studies nightly using my equipment (it's now mine as the court judgments are against me personally as I financially guaranteed both), made lots of money, and ruined my credit for the next 7 years...among other things.

Ms. Texiera informed her employees to, "just let them come in and repossess the copy machine".

So, when considering a sleep center in Rhode Island or an ethical physician group please consider what they have done to my life. They ruined it and couldn't care less...is this a group you would entrust a loved one too?

Unfortunately, money is evil and the more one has, the more one wants.

Coastal Medical should re-examine their original commitments and the oaths once sworn upon a Bible. I am pretty sure that screwing another person financially probably wasn't one of those oaths, so I guess that is a mute point.

I just wonder how those involved can put their heads down on their pillow at night with absolutely no sense of remorse for what they have done.
