If your a project manager and your looking for a contract to permanent position. Do your self a favor and skip this organization. Many IT contract companies are pouring in resumes to the Information Technology Department. The company promotes that they have a PMO but believe me. There is no respect for that organization, and each department still has their own way of delivering projects. PMI is respected and SDLC is a standard but there is no understanding of how to deliver JAD with vendors. The fact is that most of the projects do not finish on time or within budget, the PMO has no "teeth" in the organization.

Collective Brands has the attitude that they are the Wal-Mart of the shoe industry. They treat people with that attitude as well. If your a contractor, your on the low end of the totem pole.

If you interview, ask how many project managers were hired to full time. The company interviews 10-11 project managers per month and if hired, you will work more than 40 hrs a week and be paid only for 40. It just not part of their budget.

The toolkit used to manage projects, budgets, issues is a home grown tool that even the full time employees find to be a joke. It will take you up to 4 weeks just to get a handle on the bug issues. Now mind you they are working on it but believe me it is a pain.

If you get sick, don't think that you have security. The attitude is that of someone that is contracted. You may have broken your foot and if that impacts the project, IT Management will look for someone to replace you. That is just the Payless Way.
