Colombia House DVD Unauthorized charges to bank account USA maryland

Several months ago I saw an ad to get a 50.00 shopping card by joining Columbia House DVD club. They -assured- me when I spoke to them that within 6 weeks they would send the card. I assured them that if they didn't I would cancel my membership. Well, the free dvds arrived, a month later still no card. 2 more weeks and nothing... 2 months later, no card. I called them and canceled after they sent me a dvd and charged my bank account for it. They never said they'd be sending the 'refusal' notice in the email. I canceled and told them why, and that they no longer had any right to debit my account.

The girl I spoke with assured me that they would cancel my account and would not -NOT- debit my account... Yet, today , I find that they've debited 68.00 and some change from it with -NO- notification OR approval to do so.

I emailed my bank as soon as I saw it. No reply from them as yet, but be warned; Columbia House is one of the biggest scams going with empty promises and theft.
