I bid on an auction at a smaller site.  Apparantly as soon as an entry price is put in, say in this case $150, a "live auction" begins 30 min later.  Thats a  lie, they know nobody else will bid and it will sell at $150 which is much above the actual value anyway.  The item was listed as "limited edition By Artist Andy Warhol "Kootation"" with an appraisal of $6500-7000.  the title indicates an item by warhol, the listing does as well, the fine print- not so much -- "Limited Edition In The Manner Of Andy Warhol"...  I started panicking, contacted the seller also icollector with the following message:

---------------------------

I have contacted the iCollector as well, The one item i bid on i did so in error, not My error per se, but because you as the website list it as a "limited edition by andy warhol" with a value of $6000-7000. This was the title of the page, the title of the auction, and the title via Meta Title in coding. Unfortunately it says in only one spot that this is ?by the manner of?. This is a willful misrepresentation of art. If I were to win this item and get it appraised, I bet it would be worth $10 bucks. I have made an effort to collect documents, already, as the moment a payment is taken for this Sham? I will contest it. No rules, statement of this being binding will hold up. This was willfully misrepresented and I will fight it tooth and nail. Better yet, cancel my bid.

---------------------------

my response came from the website first, who cancelled my bid, the seller later contacted me from museumartauction@gmail.com with the response:

"You need to read the listing   you mostly  want it  for bid    thanks mary  if you did you earn lot money"

This one line response feels like a Senegal 419 scam email or the line from the movie Full Metal Jacket “Me love you long time. Me sucky sucky”.  Either way, this seller can’t compose a meaningful letter let alone a sentence…. Do you think you should buy from them?

Fool me once, shame on you.   Won’t happen again.
