Employment scam advertising for security guards says "you must be pre-licensed when you appear for your application/job interview". Advertising for employment and on their website then states if you do not currently have a license they can "enroll you in their next classes". (Class instructor and owner of new security agency work together). They indicate they can't hire you until the classes are completed and you have your license. The classes are expensive. After paying for and completing classes they tell you they "have no job openings". You are out the money and you can't get a license until a security agency formally hires you with a signed letter to the city stating same. They will try to talk you into multiple classes. Only one is mandatory and only then within 90 days from date of official hire.
Do not fall for this scam. First you should receive a hire letter from a reputable security agency. Do not give any money to anyone without this letter addressed to the city.

I, unlike the writer of this lie, am not afraid to let my name be known. Anyone wishing to see the writer is a malcontent and/or liar can go to the craigslist ad which has been listed for several days to see what the ad actually says. Our company offers Security Officer Basic and Advanced Courses which correspond to our city requirements. We always tell our customers that they can get the needed courses in advance or after they obtain a letter of hire. We also accept applications with our company but do not promise jobs. We will refer the students to any companies that we know are looking for officers. We will even recommend companies they might want to contact.
In addition, I do not know what other companies may charge for these classes, but would be willing to bet that we are one of the lowest priced.
If you have questions contact us to find the truth. I demand the writer have guts enough to admit they are liars or present evidence that we are what they report us to be. I can even quess who this individual is; and would be very happy to point them toward our legal representatives if they would like to take issue with us in a court of law!
