Columbia House Company UNLAWFUL, ILLEGAL BUISNESS PRACTICES INDIANAPOLIS Indiana

I was Lured by their" Buy 20 Videos for 7cents ea." or similar advertisement. Then two years later finding out ur obligated to purchase several full price videos, or you will be charged a $100+ fee.

Binded by contract I WAS Forced to pick out a video, and placed an order. Weeks later, the wrong video arrived... I tried calling, only to get an automated system, and be placed on a longer than usual hold time, and then the call would disconnect. Wasting alot of cell phn mintues, and having late fee charges arrive.. I wrote countless emails from work, despretly trying to contact them( all have been saved, along with endless cell phn call logs to their company. )...

I finally recieved an email (in aug. after 4 mo. of no established contact) reply stating," For account aSSISTANCE plz call...18005## same non-wrking # . One very interesting fact i found is,there are two completely different phn numbers that are given by columbia house to its customers. A 1800..2**something # is printed on all new advertisement intended for new customers willin to order new videos.(these were sent to my mother)I was surprised by how quick A live rep is promtly available to take any orders.

However a #1800 590*** is printed on any bills or letterS sent to any customer that has a balance on their account(in the event of a wrongfull, mistaken charge. I wonder how they expected us to dispute it ). You have to trick the system to belive u are calling to order videos, then a live rep will come to the phone line.. only to place u on a long hold once the real purpose of your call is known.

The number that I was given, in response to my emails sent was 18005906656. Which is the non-wrking number. At first I thought maybe im calling at a busy time, or maybe they went out of buisness, and have nobody to wrk the phn lines. But then I found out of the $300,000 law suit columbia house complied to pay, after they violated DO-NoT-CALL laws, by having their reps soliciting their cd's/DVDs by making outbound calls to new or previous customers( on do-dont-call lists.)

I'm thinking, they have enough staff to telemarket "New Buisness" but have no body to return my calls or the calls of hundreds of others that were trying to contact them thru a non-reachable number purposely given by them?!!! Those consumers along with myself are now unfairly place on collection.

I knew Columbia House was loosing buisness, since cd/DVD's et. now can be dwnloaded free-at -cost via internet. I never thought they would resort to unlawfull, unethical, illegal, and very questionable buisness practices.

ALL LAWYERS PLEASE CONTACT ME, LEGAL ACTION MUST BE TAKEN!!! Under fair-debt-collection.com laws, a bill cannot be collected if an account has been placed on dispute. NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS INC and any other collection company in aliance w/Columbia house BEWARE!! I have filed complaints with The better buisness beuro, Federal trade commision, and consumer affairs, I urge all consumers to do the same.
