 This company has really became a joke. With Tony Keller being hired in just over a year ago. He is fire happy. He has taken jobs away from people who have worked for the company for years. I have watched so many of my peers receive their last pay check. Its sad how someone can fire somebody for absolutely no reason. He is working up a cult, you are not to worry or stress about life, we all will die. And for us to call him "Dad" its disgusting. I am no longer walking on egg shells because I am now a statistic with my fellow peers.

Don't get comfortable at Combined as Tony said...be ready to bring your torch in, this is survivor. I guess I didn't make the cut on the little island of Combined. In the small amount of time I was there I watched oldies go, 20plus years and was requested to sign a paper stating she will not say anything about her leave. This broke my heart....I am not able to deal with hire and fire very easily....so maybe that is were my cut took place.

I pray the Card brothers grasp what is taking place in their establishment. This company used to have a good name. Tony is destroying Combined Transport and there very well known name. I also pray that you or whomever will read this, it will not be you next. My holidays are destroyed for my daughter and I, we will be homeless now, thanks to a man that wants you to call him "Dad". You are not my Dad and not a good father figure to this company. I am devastated beyond. However, I will keep on truckin.

First of all, whoever you are you must have drank alot of kool aid. Keller is a narcisisst HAS to be in CONTROL of every thing anyone does even on there own time.  He has fired or harrassed someone so hard that they have quit, 72 people since he started, people who worked there 10,15,25 years.  With all the lawsuits that are happening and are in the Near future there is no chance for this once good Family company to survive.  When you get to work its sad to think that you cannot even talk to someone that has been your friend for 20 years in fear of being fired....Cult-ure meetings ..just what it says..if you dont agree with his "beliefs" you will be fired banished from the company and can never set foot back in the door or he calls the police...what a joke....this is supposed to be a christian real joke...as far as respect he deserves absoutly none. He has fired someone because he found out they were gay.....thats not christian...He came to combined with zero knowledge of the trucking industry and after 3 1/2 years still knows nothing.  He had lost the company the glass hauling, the glue and even Harry and David not to mention Wind Tower which was most of there income along with glass.  If they dont get it sold they will be in bankruptcy but they still have the worthless Blackwell Trucking, I guess Mike will have to be happy hauling s**t loads, but he dosnt really care.

So if you really think he is a wonderful guy stick by him you may be his only friend.

 Whoever you are saying that shirley was not qualified you are the joke..When I was there Tony hired the stupidest people, like someone from Jo Anns to do billing, thats stupid. And the new person Heidi that is his God daughter, she is the real joke...receptionest from la clinica. In charge of almost everything...dumb as a log and an alcololic everyone hates her. Except Mike so she is probable sleeping with him as well as whoever she can get at the bar... I have been gone for a few years but the   writing is on the wall sweetie either you are the stupid Heidi or someone just as ignorant..the place will go bankrupt and soonYou new people of his have drained the place dry and turned it into a horrible place to work....She is the lucky one not to get hired there...

 Shirley.... The second she walked in the door she was looking for a lawsuit....She was never ever once lied too in the hiring process. By me, the man that called her to explain Monday or by the 2 people who offered her another job. What it boils down too was she was not capable of handling the job and that offended her. Fess up Shirley and tell them truth! I guarantee you if I were to see her face to face she would back down and admit she WAS NOT LIED TOO!!! She is looking for easy money in a lawsuit! Who drives flatbed and does not tarp...are you stupid?

Very sad & bad to hear these negative reports from such hard working individuals that are highly skilled people that are taken advantage of by such "Driver Un-Friendly" Combined Transport. I know because I've been employed as a "Lady Trucker" for many years in an occupation which is chocked full of the Ol' Boy system. And I have been lied to so many times working for the likes of these Driver Abusive Trucking Company's! As usual due to my outgoing friendly nature, I again gave another "Company Recruiter" namely "Betsy Miracle" a positive benefit listening to her offer of employment with this company.

Actually, it was my husband which I had spent time typing his Driver Information/Employment History via their online application. I and my husband have spent many years OTR as a Husband/Wife Driver Team, and were laid off. A good trucker buddy of ours suggested checking out this Combined Transport as a possible suitable employer. Anyways, I applied for my husband and shortly thereafter recieved a resaponse from this company recruiter, Betsy Miracle. After speaking with her myself; my husband was at time employed (still is) as a full time log truck driver as a local driver in Douglas County but at times goes thru temporary lay off periods especially during fire season.

I had been off the road for well over a year after our lay off. Anyways, my husband was at work at time she called, and as we spoke she learned that I was also an experienced truck driver possibly looking for work. She offered me a position as a "Glass Hauler" with Combined in late January, 2015. This Driver Position as she described to me as a 97% No Touch Freight- Drop & Hook (Loads Pre-loaded at Glass Factory in Fresno, CA) as a "Dedicated Haul" out of Fresno and Delivery in Central Canada. I asked her if there would be any heavy lifting such as load tarping involved and she told me definately no tarping involved.

I told her that I'd suffered a back injury many years before operating as a solo flatbed driver and I wouldn't be interested in any Driver Position which would require tarping. She went on telling me that I could run empty after making delivery in Canada and run down the I-5 corridor, stopping for home time (I live in Canyonville) and then continue on down to Fresno; I'd be paid the same mileage pay loaded or empty! It all sounded great to me, but I still held some reservations due to my past experiences. I went online and completed my Driver Application as well. A few days later, both I and my husband spoke with Betsy in speaker phone mode.

She made the same type Driver Position offer to him- she told us that they don't operate teams but we would both be running the same Dedicated Haul, as separate solo drivers. My husband told her that he was interested but that he'd have to give his current employer at least a two week notice before coming onboard with Combined. She agreed that would be responsible positive action, she'd go ahead processing me- putting him on the back burner for now. She scheduled for me to begin my Driver Orientation on February 02, 2015 at 07:00 am. The Friday January 30, 2015 prior to this date, I recieved a phone call from a man from Combined who stated he was calling to verify my upcoming Driver Orientation attendance, and he told me that I would be required to complete a Driver Physical Fitness Test.

I asked him what physical activities comprised this testing? He answered stating that I'd be required to perform walking upon a treadmill for a heart test- he strongly advised me NOT to consume any caffeinated beverages such as coffee because it raises the blood pressure. He said also I'd have to step up and down on a bucket a few times, then he chuckled and told me that the worst part would be having to fill out all of the paper work! I asked him specifically if there would be any lifting of heavy or bulky objects- explaining about what Betsy Miracle had informed me about the specific job duties of this "Dedicated Haul Job". He reiterated to me about walking on the tradmill and the bucket step. So I told him that I would definately attend on Monday.

Well to briefen this account, I'll just state that I was lied to about the Physical Fitness Test- they made me pick up a very heavy weighted barbell like the kind that weight lifters use, they made me stand it on end and awkwardly leaning it away from me towards the wall and bringing it back down onto my legs and then up against my waist and carry it across the room walking in a sideways direction, then carry it back and setting it down upon the weight bench table. I mentioned to the Testor that my back felt strained from doing that, he didn't seem to care, he then had me try to stand upon one leg for a couple minutes- which I had a hard time doing because of my back was strained from lifting that heavy barbell! He allowed me a second chance to stand on one leg which I barely could do at the time.

Then he had me cast load straps, which I've done alot of in my life as a trucker and I had no problem doing, then he had me flip a heavy load tarp a few times. Then he directed for me to pick up this rolled up load tarp up onto my shoulder and carry it across the room. I refused telling him that I'd been told that the job I'd been offered required no tarping and that I knew better than to pick it up because I didn't want to injure my back. I told him that I used to be a flatbed driver and I was trained in safe load securement procedures, that I'd flip the tarp onto the fork of a forklift and the forklift operator would load it onto the top of the load or onto the deck of the trailer.

He then led me back to the driver orientation room. A short time later, I was taken by a man and a woman to a private room and told thar I'd failed the Physical Fitness Test, the man told me that he was aware of the fact that I'd been offered the specific "Dedicated Glass Haul Position" but their decision was to instead better utilize me with their sister company " Blackwell Consolidated" located in Central Point. I told him that the only reason I came to the Driver Orientation was for this specific Job Offer made to me by Betsy Miracle, I debated with him over safe tarping procedures informing him about such "Flatbed Load Securement Safety Videos- SAFE CORP puts one out as well as Sherman Brother's "TARP SMART" "!! He told me to take my time and consider his new job offer.

They then walked me back to the Driver Orientation Room. I sat for a time listening to other personnel, however I began feeling very uncomfortable, my low back and my neck was aching, a lady told all of us that we could go and have a short break time, I saw a man bring in a few small boxes of pizza, I told them I didn't want to eat any pizza- I had my small order of biscuits & Gravy still sitting out in my car. I left the building went to my car. Sat briefly eating a few bites realizing how much my back hurt, so I opted to drive home so I could lay down and try to recover from having to lift that heavy weighted barbell!!! Needless to say my husband was not very happy with how I was treated at Combined Transport and he is staying working his log truck job. I agree with this complaint writer... I would Not referr any Truck Driver to this company! They LIE!

 I have known Tony Keller my whole life. He's a no nonsense person but he's very smart and the owner's of Combined Transport have a lot of confidence in him. The people who write in and make harsh comments are obviously very hostile and they should work through their emotions instead of bashing a man that don't really know. I may not always agree with Tony but I have a lot of respect for him. Judge not unless you want to be judged people.

 Before the onset of this horrific persons employment Combined Transport was a very thriving trucking company.  When he was hired he specifically told us "I am not here to fire anyone" of course when someone says that ...its the first thing they do.  He hired people from his church mainly to spy on everyone and report back to him what was being said.  This became extreamly uncomfortably in trying to do your daily work.  It became apparent that he was there for the sole purpose of firing everyone....and has done just that to 53 people.  These were employees who had been with the company 10-15 and 25 years. 

Tony Keller is a narcissist gets gradification in firing people and has to be in control of your every movement even after you have gone home....He is a 52 year old man that was fired from his County job and was told by Adaire home never to set foot on there property.....This is his last chance in life and he found the perfect person to help him..Mike Card. Mike "used" to be a smart man...or so we all thought.  I think the greed that Tony has promised him in power and money has made him a sorry soul.   He has let Tony fire and even taken some to court on a non compete paper the dispatcher had to sign not to go to work for another trucking company...of course Tony lost how stupid to think he could win.

He has also lost his place in his church....they must have found out what a horrible person he is and what he has done.  Combined has had so many wrecks with the wind fleet I am surprised they are still hauling for that company.  And there will be more to come.  Tony thinks that any driver can haul any loads, weather its glass, lumber for a heavy haul, he is so ignorant when it comes to the truckng industry its hard to beleive that Mike still lets it go on, the company is headed for a disaster of major proportion and its coming soon.

I feel sad for the people who still have to go in every day with the fear of being fired, not knowing when, if, its your day.  He has verbally abused a few people mostly women, he is a short bald insecure person who thrives on making people feel so bad about themselves that they have to seek a counselor to find out why he thinks they are so bad, they are not, he is.

Pay back is a b***h...and when he gets his...it will be justified

 I find it amusing that #Tony Keller would take the time to try and recover his image.  Why would I mention anything in the terms of survivor if I didn't hear it specifically from this person?  Internet use should NEVER be done while at work, which is being done all day, every day, by the few I sat by.  Break time is my personal time, I can talk, text, internet view, at my desire while on my break, which was NEVER done in the office.  You lead by great example, just last Tuesday you about ran into me while you were texting/looking at your phone, if it wasn't for me doing my job and watching out where I was going you would have collided with me.  Dad-was mentioned numerous times while in the company meeting for sexual harassment.  You insisted we come to "DAD" if there is any problem....WHO, DAD!!!! EWWWWW. All while telling us your history with being accused for sexual harassment by Jackson County.  Affair- You married a fellow employee of Combined Transport, so you’re telling me you never spoke to her via email?  I find that extremely hard to believe, I mean how did you meet this person if no exchange was done while on the clock?  Hmmmm there have been far too many people falsely accused and terminated by your decision.  Anonymous person, fired after 20 years, her heart wasn't in it, and she was not friendly, 20 years...another 15 years, another 10 years, and so on.  My last check was issued on November 20th, 2013.  I was at home taking care of my sick daughter that day.  My check was issued a day before I got the news that I had to bring my "torch" in.  So I lost my job for taking care of my daughter is exactly what took place!  I am a single mother to a 3 year old; I can't promise anyone that she will not get sick, hurt or something happen to her while I am at work.  I came to work and I did my job, and I did a great job!  Explains the bonus I just received because I took care of my carriers and did my job.  No bitterness to Combined Transport, I learned my lesson along with my fellow peers.  I should have listened to the people that told me "What....Combined Transport???"  "I have heard so many bad things about that place!!!"  The reviews itself online show that this is not a safe place to work, if you are looking for long term.  Justice done, moving forward.

Rebuttal from Combined Transport:

My name is Tony Keller and I am the General Manager for Combined Transport.  I have worked for Combined for nearly two years and during that time the Company has in fact changed dramatically.  On my first day at Combined, I was walking down the aisle and a long-time employee told me to “get the F*** out of my way – don’t you know who I am?”  At the same time, the Company was going through a change of ownership and the owners wanted to change the “culture of the company”.  The Company has had one owner for nearly a year now and he supports the changes in the culture that have been implemented.

Over the last two years, we have regularly worked to coach employees to treat each other and our customers with respect.  We ask three things of our employees:

  • When you make decisions – do what is in the best interest of Combined Transport

  • Give your best effort each day

  • Have the right heart about what you do and how you treat people

In the last two years, there have been several people who have left Combined Transport, some long-term employees – either on their own or via termination.  In each case, we spent a great deal of time talking, coaching, using progressive discipline, etc. to help employees understand how we needed to move forward.  In the end, we don’t force anyone to agree with our desired treatment of each other – they are welcomed to leave Combined anytime they wish; however, if you are going to work here – you do need to treat your fellow workers with respect.

I have never asked anyone to call me “Dad” – in fact, I don’t have any idea where this random allegation came from.  I have repeatedly told employees that we are a “work family” and as such, we will have disagreements, make mistakes and learn from our mutual mistakes, but in the end, we spend more time awake with our “work family” than we do our real family, so I ask that people work out their issues in a constructive manner.  I often tell employees that I will make mistakes and I ask for “forgiveness in advance”.

One employee said that some employees who cling to the old way of thinking, “walk around with their torch, like they are on survivor”.  I said at a Company-wide meeting two months ago, that work is “not Survivor – I don’t want you to be in fear of your job or carry around your torch – please just follow the three things that we ask of our employees” (see list above).  If a person has any of the following characteristics, then I would encourage them not to apply to Combined Transport:

  •  If you have the wrong heart toward people
  • If you enjoy office drama and like to spread rumors and back-stab people

  • If you can’t forgive people and refuse to work as a team with others

  • If you think it is important to cut someone down in an attempt to elevate yourself

  • If you use Company e-mail to carry on an affair with a married co-worker

  • If you spend your day on Facebook and texting from your cell phone rather than working

  • If you like to intentionally mislead new employees to further your standing

  • If you can’t recognize in yourself ways you can improve

We strive to hire the right people for our organization – sometimes we are right and sometimes we are wrong.  In the case of the employee in this report they chose to participate in some of the activities noted above and was repeatedly warned, disciplined and coached to avoid these behaviors – in the end, they chose to ignore those warnings.

It is not our desire to terminate employees and we never make this life-changing decision without good reason; however, we want to foster and support a positive work environment.  If someone is operating counter to this goal, they will likely not be working for Combined for an extended career.
