Comcast made the move to take over TimeWarner back in April 07' and sent out special written notice to all customers at that time that their service and prices wouldn't be changing. Comcast declare in this note that in fact you would still be getting the exact same service for the same price without CHANGE in PRICE or SERVICE.
However, once Comcast took over in April of '07 they slowly phased out channels without their customers permission, and added channels that filled a more ethicniticy type. Meaning that now there where more race specific programs available on channels that once held users favorites. Some of this included all hispanic, all african american, all middle eastern channels geared towards those veiwers. (Channels I was not particularlly interested in either way so I didn't consider it a problem.)
Now on October 1, 2007 Comcast has done just what they promised that they wouldn't do, they've altered my server and raised the rates for channels I don't want, use or need. The rate for Digital Perfered Plus before Comcast took over in April 07' was 49.99 and the channel line up was different by far. Now the rate has jumped to 59.00 (and I'm assuming its higher if you don't have their internet as well like I do) though they did not have my permission to add or take away from my service (that includes channels or the price).
Thus, I called this evening 10/11/2007 I spent one hour (7:30-8:30pm CST) talking to the rudest CSR (customer service representative) I've ever had to deal with. Not only did this particular representative cut me off from talking at every opportunity she refused to listen either simply proclaiming 'I apologize' regardless of what I said. When I asked a simple yes/no question she'd respond "I apologize, (my last name) but we cannot do anything about your problem." Never even acknowledge I asked her if she was listening and I asked a lot of other questions as well. I had to ask her three seperate times to speak to her supervisor, mind you I got the same response as above, as the last request after telling her to listen and stop interrupting please, she made an effort to transfer me to her supervisor. The next person was not her supervisor either, just another CSR who was even more rude and did not let me get a single word in. I then demanded to speak to a supervisor because I said "There is no way your a supervisor your doing a worse job then the last person" to which the woman admitted no she was not a supervisor and then proceeded to transfer me again.
The last person I spoke to did not sound middle eastern and actually seemed more polite however refused to fix the problem that Comcast had sent me written notice stating they would not change my service and that they had. Instead she proclaimed that all I could do was cancel service if I didn't like the changes but that there was no one at the office to help with the problem at the moment. She then said she couldn't help me and was the anything else she could do for me tonight. She had done nothing. Problem remained. They sent written notice that was signed by someone of importance in their corporation that I was not gonna be paying more or less, receiving more or less, and yet they had gone back on that promise in writing.
I suggest that if you are going to pick a cable company that you never choose Comcast, I wish that TimeWarner had not been bought by them, they are horrible ISP/CSP.
