This "credit union” is a bank, absolutely not a credit union. I don’t know how they get away with the façade of pretending to be a credit union when they are actually operating as a money hungry bank.

It’s a Friday night and my bank card is not working and I just had an 1800$ deposit yesterday. Obviously it won’t be working until they resolve the issue on Monday.

I called the fraud department and there are no flags on my card and there’s absolutely no reason it should not be working. I’m late on a car payment by 1 day. I tried to get gas and couldn’t do it, tried to use an ATM and couldn’t do it.

I have a small child I need to buy groceries, I depend on my bank card for everything. I can’t speak for other states I can only speak for Northern California, i’ll be closing my account on Monday. Credit unions are supposed to be for the people, this is not a credit union, it’s a very greedy bank.

I recommend you do not bank with this "credit union” or you can learn the hard way.

No Bank Error

Hello, this is to correct my report. The bank did not freeze my card, the chip became defective due to no fault of the bank. I can’t withdraw my report, so this is my correction to the report. I did close my account however, because they (unlike most other banks-credit unions) do not have a 24 hour CS line to call in cases like this. It’s very annoying when you have matters arise outside of banking hours.

Everything else I stated about their bank I continue to attest to.

First off the only way this would work is if your Auto Loan is also with the CU, and I am figuring that this is the case.

You seem to be confused, while a Credit Union is a Non-Profit "Member Run" organization, it isn't a Charity. You made a legal agreement to make payments for a specific amount on specific dates. A CU needs to look out for ALL members....especially the ones that are abiding by the terms they agreed to.  If they started to just let people slide or delay payments it affects their ability to operate.

Now, I would bet that you were not just 1-Day late or are not being totally forthcoming with your payment history. Perhaps you were trying to gamble with a "grace period" or "penalty" date. I am curious as to when you actually intended to make your car payment. As you stated you were only "1-Day" late when they cut off your card today, but you also had an $1800 deposit "yesterday". You gave no indication that you even attempted to or intend to make the payment. So the earliest it seems you would be making your payment would be Monday, which would now make your payment even later.

I can’t speak for other states I can only speak for Northern California,
- I know that NorCal people don't like SoCal, but I didn't know they were two different States.

Obviously it won’t be working until they resolve the issue on Monday.
- Don't be surprised if this "resoultion" is you making the car payment.

I recommend you do not bank with this "credit union” or you can learn the hard way.
- Yes and the lesson here is to make your payments on-time as you made a legal agreement to do.

Don't get me wrong, cutting off your card because you are late on a car payment is not the norm. However, it is something they are legally allowed to do and something you agreed to when you agreed to the loan and opened your account. If they didn't take this option, realize they could have taken other action such as Reposessing your car making you pay not only what you owed, but additional fees due to the Reposession.
