Bought a new washer/dryer combo unit and rec'd on July 6, 2007. WAher would not work and immediately notified Compact Appliance Co. who told me I had to go thru the manufacturer. My position is they should have sent one that works and I should only need to go thru the manufacturer if I have been using the unit and it quit working. Not if I rec'd a unit and it never worked from the day I rec'd.
In any event the manifacturer will not warrant the unit and it was advertized bu compact appliance as having a full manufacturer warranty. So I am stuck with a unit I bought new that does not work and has no warranty. I feel Compact Appliance should be required to replace this unit since they sold it unusable. Compact Appliance only responds back to me sometimes.

CA NOTES AND ACTIONS FOR THIS CUST

Customer purchase an Open Box (OB) unit on 7/2 shipped 7/5 and arrived on 7/10. Notice provided to Compact Appliance on defect was 8/10. We directed the customer initially to the manufacture as we do all of our customers. Our site will state that if a unit is received defective, either new or OB, it will have warranty from the very first date of receipt. Our customer was notified by LG that they would service but the service rep was not in close range. We then received notice from the Customer that the manufacture was not willing to assist with the repair. = In this situation we will step in= Several calls where made from our department (CA) to see why service was not available along with finding a way to resolve our customers situation. After some time we had the manufacture replace the unit for a new (info customer did not mention). Again our policy (located on our site) will ask that the customer contact the manufacture for assistance and if in a rare situation they are unwilling to assist we will do what we can on our end to resolve on our end. We agree the customer was treated poorly by the manufacture but Compact Appliance did work for the customer to receive a working unit.
I thank you for the opportunity to respond to this customer.
