I bought two gigabit PCI network cards for my computers, on this web site, and paid immediately with PayPal. They charged me 5.95 for next business day delivery. I didn't even receive a confirmation e-mail, so started trying to contact them. After about 1 week with no replies (no-one answers the phone and I spent all day trying to speak to someone on their seemingly un-manned online help), they finally sent me two 56 kilobit PCI Express modems (who uses modems any more?). Totally different to what I ordered.

Again, I tried contacting them over and over again, with no response whatsoever. Two weeks after I made my order, I received another package, this time containing two 100 megabit network cards. Again, not what I ordered, and totally useless to me.

More attempts to contact them with no response, and I eventually went through PayPal to try and get a refund. Eventually, almost a month after I made the purchase, Paul Johnson from computersupermarket replied and said that they would not give me a refund unless I returned the items, which would have meant that I'd have to pay for posting them. I said that I would return them as long as I didn't have to pay postage, and that was the last I heard from them.

For some reason, computersupermarket is certified by SafeBuy, so I contacted them, and they sent Paul Johnson an e-mail. He then had the nerve to reply to that e-mail, saying that he had already offered me a refund, if I just returned the items, obviously having completely ignored what I said.

Surely this is more than incompetence. I suspect these people are dishonest.

They're also the kind of company that couldn't care less about customer service. As I explained, you can try and try every means possible to contact them, and they might get back to you after a week or two, with something really unhelpful. And if you have a real problem, they'll just ignore you. They ignored me for ages until I contacted SafeBuy.

And if you click on the link on their home page that says "Read our Customer Reviews", you'll see that one of the reviews was written by an Ian Bird, who happens to be the customer service agent who e-mailed me the first time. I think that speaks for itself.

Stay away from these jokers.
