Concept Financial Trust Fraudulent Company Sending Out Invalid Checks Royal Oak Ontario

I received a letter from Concept Financial Trust stating that I won $56,985.00 from the Annual Consumer's Clearing Awards. They also enclosed a check for $3,985.00 telling me to cash the check and then call one 'Steve Davis' at 1-902-412-0336. When I called the number provided, I reached a recording which told me to call 1-514-582-9343 instead.

When I talked to someone at that number, they told me to deposit the check and call them when it cleared. I deposited the check in my account and the next day it went through. I had been behind on some payments and used some of this newfound money to help catch up on bills. When I checked my bank account the next day, I found there was a hold on the money and I was overdrawn nearly $600.

I don't know what I am going to do now, but I hope more people don't fall for this scam and that this company is quickly investigated and shut down.
