This company offered to replace our existing Canon monochrome printer/fax/copier with a color one from Kyocera-Minolta that would cost us less money.
First they miscalculated the remaining payoff on the previous copier and charged us in the new lease by over $6000 which we have not been able to resolve over two years later. The buy out owed for the old copier was 8 payments at appx $400/month. Connected Business charged us for 20 payments! They overcharged us by 12 payments and refused to acknowledge it.
Then...when they were making those remaining 8 payments to Canon, they missed the first one, which we had to pay directly to Canon, and each subsequent monthly payment was late to the point that Canon was calling us for the payment that CBSI was supposed to be making.
Next-Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for the new copier in December. Weeks before the new copier had been delivered or installed. When I called the new lease company they explained that CBSI already had the lump sum payment money so I need to pay them. In other words, I had to make two payments the first month (Dec 2008). When I asked the leasing company for a copy of the documents, it was clear that the documents submitted to the leasing company had the dates changed.
Then-at the end of the first year, they charged us an "estimated overage" on our copier usage of $1000. Now keep in mind that they estimated our usage for the year and sold us the service package based on that usage. Then, without even counting the number of imprints we made, they sent us a bill for an estimated overage. How can you estimate the number and then estimate an overage????? And then send a bill without even counting the number of prints?
Finally in March they came out and counted the prints and then billed us for the actual prints used. Well, the only problem with that was that they included Dec,09, Ja Feb and March 2010 in the count which of course was over the annual contract. But the last time I checked there were 12 months in a year not 15.
The service provided by the company has been absolutely terrible. They are supposed to replace a printer if the printer cannot be repaired. In Januaru 2010 their tech came to service a printer which he said could not be repaired. In March we asked again about the printer and he came out and told us that he had already told us he could not repair it. So we asked for the replacement. He stated that we did not have a replacement contract. So we pulled out a copy of the contract and proved that it needed to be replaced.
He took that printer with him in August 2010 to "replace it" and as I sit here today in December I still do not have a replacement. So I have paid a service contract on this printer the entire year of 2010 and do not have a printer to use.
Even getting our toner cartridges has been a hassle. When our main Kyocera printer stopped working in April 2010 they refused to fix it until we paid the estimated overages. Finally in August they agreed to accept less, about half for the estimated overages, foxed the one copier/printer. Took the other one to replace it, and have never responded again.
Be very careful if you decide to use this company. I cannot recommend them.
