I was contacted by these people and deceived into purchasing magazines. I was told that I would be given a pamphlet with an 800 number to call in case I wanted to cancel. They mentioned something about a free watch that I would be receiving also. They told me that they were authorized representatives from Visa/MC and wanted to wish me luck on the $50,000 contest that they had going on quarterly.

I never received a package from them and I really did just forget about it, until I got my credit card statement. They made two withdrawals from my account in two weeks! That's when I looked them up online. I just typed their name in the search engine and all of these fraudulent claims websites popped up.

On my statement, they're listed as MOS*Magazine Subscriptions. I immediately called Wells Fargo (that's who I have my Visa with) cancelled my card and disputed the claims. When I called the 800 number on my statement. I was told that it was way too late to cancel and that this was a permanent account that could not be cancelled. I was given payment options instead.

According to their system, I had already been sent a pamphlet detailing the magazines and giving me the cancellation information. The rude lady on the phone told me that I owed them $700 and that I would still owe it wether or not I received the magazines because they had already pre-paid the subscriptions for me. To this day, I have not received anything from them, not even the brochure with magazine choices.

Wells Fargo called me about the disputed claims and we called the company together. It was then, and only then, that the office agreed to refund my money (totalling $89.80)to my account, but I would STILL owe the balance($700+) to them. They also told me that they shouldn't be doing that because Anthony had explained everything to me in detail. I NEVER spoke to a male!

I have reported these people with as many of their different names as possible to the state Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice. I also plan on reporting these people to Visa. I'm pretty sure that Visa would do something about these people using their name in this sham.

I got my money back!

AUTHOR: Dalia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 12, 2003

Wells Fargo helped me get my money back from these people! It took just about the whole thirty days that Wells Fargo gave them as a window of time for the refund, but I got it.

I got a phone call soon after I received my refund telling me that I STILL owed the company over $700 and that a refund did not imply that they were in the wrong.

As long as I have my money back, they can call all they want. I've already reported them to several agencies and gave a detailed account as to what happened to me.

I urge everyone to PLEASE do the same. Report these people! With persistence, this will undoubtedly turn into a lawsuit. I would love to be the thorn on their side and let them know what it feels like to be screwed.

Does anyone know of any investigative reporting that is being done by the big networks on this? Maybe we should start e-mailing them with our experiences too.

I had to cancel my card to make sure that they did not continue withdrawing from my account, so far, it's worked. I think they sold my phone number though.

Now I'm starting to get these weird phone calls asking me to buy insurance and all of these things.
