Consolidated Readers Institute Being sued for magagines I NEVER ordered in 2002 Arlington Heights Illinois

Someone from Burtone and associated called my mothers house yesterday and said I was mentioned in a class action law suit and it was in my best interest to call them back, leading my mother to think I had some money coming in.

I called the back this morning and they wanted updated information on me, which I gave them for whatever reason, she said I was the one being sued for some magazines that I ordered way back in 2002! She said it was $1900 but they would take a settlement offer today of $600, I told her I did not have $600 and Im certainly not paying a debt that I did not think I owed, she then told me she would fax me proof and I needed to call her back or they would subpoena me to court, and it would cost a lot more!

I got the fax and it was from a company called Consolidated Readers Institute in Arlington Heights, IL. I vaguely remember them calling me at work. I assume I must have paid for some of these magazines but I really dont remember its been 6 years!

I have not called them back, and I have contacted an attorney over this matter!! I know this can NOT be on my credit report as I bought a house like 2 years ago and Im sure it would have been on there. They have my social security number also.
