My multi-flo has been overflowing for the 6 years that I've had it and it was brand new when I moved in. I have spent thousands on this UN-SOUND waste water treatment system. It has been pumped out at least once per year and both pumps have broken at least once. The first service provider used to dump sewage in the woods behind the house and because of my complaints he was tried in court.

Now the aerator impeller is broken mysteriously and I will be waiting a week for a new part to arrive from the middleman "authorized dealer" in Santa Rosa because Consolidated won't sell it to me over the phone. Meanwhile it is filling with crap and smelling and will probably have to be pumped again (it was just pumped on Dec. 17...12 days ago) so that it does not back up the toilets AGAIN or God-forbid overflow AGAIN.

This "monster" as the service provider calls it, is a boon to the septic pumpers who earn hundreds each time they come out. Multi-flo has a reputation for being horrible among every local pumper I've talked to. Come to find out it's happening all over Lake County, according to my service provider (that I pay $350/year for the privilege of someone to call when s**t hits the fan - which is about every few months) some people can't afford to have theirs pumped and sewage is running all over the ground on many properties in this beautiful part of Northern California. County Environmental Health Department says it's not their fault; Consolidated sold them without trash tanks so that's how they were authorized and installed. Consolidated says the county should have required trash tanks to be installed,  as other counties and entire STATES did. County says "Multi-flo was certified by the NSF the way it is, without trash tanks. Homeowners will have to pay to have trash tanks installed if they want them." Right! With people barely hanging on to their homes, affording food for their kids, they are supposed to spend $8,000 to install this? Give me a break.  We live in an area where there is no city sewer. The s**t has to go somewhere. WHERE? IN THE GROUND? SEEPING INTO THE WATER TABLE? POLLUTING THE GROUND OUR CHILDREN PLAY ON?

When will someone wake up to realize that these things are ridiculous and unsafe public health hazards?

Consolidated: YOU NEED TO INSTALL TRASH TANKS ON ALL EXISTING MULTI-FLO MACHINES AT YOUR OWN COST  OR ARRANGE SOME KIND OF PLAN WITH LAKE COUNTY. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE LIABLE FOR THIS. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL NEXT BECAUSE I AM TIRED OF DEALING WITH THIS s**t TIME AND TIME AGAIN! IGNORING THIS PROBLEM WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE.
