I joined construction deal about 1 year ago. It is a service that helps homeowners find contractors in their area. Well, they take money from contractors and give them a lead -the way it is suppose to go is that Constructiondeal.com gives the same lead to 3 contractors or less - so if a kitchen lead cost $51 then x 3 = $153.00 profit for constructiondeal.com. After a while, I'd say 6 months I started asking the homeowners how many people call them because they would yell at me asking me to take them off the list.

So Constructiondeal would really give the lead out to 7-8 or even 9 contractors. Take that $51 x 9 contractors that equals $459.00 for constructiondeal.com ! When I brought that to their attention they told me that was because the homeowner must have filled out other forms? What sense does that even make?? As a contractor you have the right to dispute the referral but they just continue to decline the dispute and still keep your money. If they decline your dispute 3 times you lose your right to dispute any referrals. One of my leads that I called was for a childs hospital room who was dying of cancer at C.H.O.P. in Philly.

The woman anwsered crying and said I dialed the wrong number. Thinking I dialed wrong I called back again, the same woman anwsered and I told her how sorry I was and told her I would ask that lead to be stopped. I called constructiondeal.com and told them about this and they said they would end that lead to the dying childs room. I called the number back 2 days later and she said that they keep calling, at least 6 different people a day. Only when I threatened them that I would put the story online did constructiondeal remove the lead.

Beware contractors !! Out of 247 leads I have paid for, at an average of $35 a lead = $8645 i sold only 3 jobs!! That is less than 1% of closing - when your bidding against 6 others I guess thats good. Times are tough right now, way too tough for you to throw your money away . I am planning a law suit against their fraudulent practices. They also sold me and 6 other contractor a lead for a kitchen in philly for $51 x 6=306 and it was not even for a kitchen it was to glue a countertop which cost $45 service call. I got the job and did it while I was on the" kitchen remodel" est. so between the gas $20 + $8 for epoxy + $5  toll + $51  for the lead I made -neg-$45 constructiondeal made $306!

When I asked them to honor their own policy they said no!  I told them what was going on with the leads being given out to too many contractors, they kept on doing it. Then I got on their site and acted like I was a customer for a roof repair and they sold" my job " to ,as of today, 9 other contractors ! So that is $61 x 9 =$549 profit for constructiondeal !!! So as you can plainly see Constructiondeal.com is a numbers company with NO LOYALTY TO IT MEMBERS !! They told me they wont stop, Oh... they also charge contractors a membership fee of $89 a year!!

Lets do a hypothetical...just say they have 5000 members, that works out to $445,000 a year plus if each contractor buys 3 leads a week at a average of $35 x3 = $105 x 5000 members = $525,000 a week!! They need to be stopped !! Contractors only buy leads when they are slow and constructiondeal is praying on them and not even giving them a fair chance to get the job. The worst part is they are not even caring that they are in violation of their own policy- yes they also gave me a lead for a kitchen it cost me $51 if you want it its yours the number they gave me for the homeowner is (555)555-5555...seriously I was charged for this !!

I begged to have my "reserve" money refunded to me, (oh yeah that require to have a minimum of $300 in there account at all times) since I do not wish to do "business" with constructiondeal any longer...they are flat out refusing to give me my money back !! Contractors work way too hard to be throwing away money to some soft handed executive type that couldn't tell you the difference between a tape measure and a hammer !! Please...if you too were or are a victim of Constructiondeal.com please leave me a message !! Thank you
