Purchased software from Jeff Tremaine with Mortgage Care.  After a few weeks of use, we quickly realized this software was unbelieveably bad.  Jeff told us the many things the software would do well and how amazing it was.  He claimed it would solve our problems with zero issues.  Jeff has a pattern of telling you what you want to hear, while knowing that the software wont work.  When he tells you how groundbreaking their software is, DONT BELIEVE IT.  The pattern of "misrepresentation" runs deep here.  Dont trust what he says.

The software looks like it was last updated in 2005 and it has many, many bugs.  The interface is so unbelievably old and clunky with all kinds of quirks that will make you go crazy.  Tech support is basically non-existent.  They have a few junior staffers that answer the phone but if you ask anything off script, they just take messages and usually dont call back.  We were shocked at the simple questions we would ask, like "what does this menu item do?" and we were told...."uh uh, that is not my area, let me have someone call you back."  Really, you dont even know what the "XYZ" button does???  We quickly learned that once they had our money, support was non-existent.

We also quickly learned that there were so many bugs in the system, we could not rely on the results for literally anything.  It took us weeks to work through a simple Payoff Report.  It continually mis-calculates and shows wrong data.  When you ask why issues like this happen, you commonly get the answer, "thats the way the software works" or "it takes some time to shake off the cobwebs and get things working right".  Things like Incremental Funding DO NOT WORK at all, regardless of what they say.  It took us some time but we now realize that the system calculates monthly loan payments completely incorrectly and overcharges the borrower.  These are just a few of the errors and issues we encountered, there are too many to recount them all.

Sometimes we would enter loan data and then save and come back to find huge chunks of what we entered to be missing.  No explanation on this.  The software forced us to be so mis-trusting of EVERY output in the system because it is wrong so often.

After the first month of use, we demanded a refund of the purchase price from Jeff Tremaine and were refused.  We listed our detailed complaints and explained how we were unable to use it going forward.  We were told that we had not allowed them to train us and it was data entry error, in other words "its the customers fault that our product is unusable".  Both points are complete and utter lies and they know it.  Jeff did, however, offer us a "new and improved" software package, a completely new product that he claims is vastly superior.  I have no idea why he just now announced the "superior" software package.  It would have been nice to hear about that before buying Mortgage Care and making a huge mistake.

Whatever you do, DO NOT purchase software from this company.  They will tell you anything you want to hear but when you start using the product, you will quickly realize that its literally worthless.  In our industry, you have to rely on correct calculations and accuracy is everything.  If accuracy matters to you, stay far away from Mortgage Care.

Our side of the story

Mortgage+Care is a very customizable software product. No two clients are exactly alike.  We pride ourselves in the fact that we will work with our clients to fit their needs, not the other way around.

This being said, installing large business critical applications takes some time on both sides. We are learning your procedures and customizing forms while your staff must put in extra time for training and loading information.  This process can be frustrating.

Mortgage+Care is an accounting system.  No, it does not have flashy screens, but it is optimized to be as efficient as possible with regards to data entry. The underlying technology is sound and compatible with a wide range of hardware.

Prospects are encouraged to try our software for free for up to 30 days. That way they can test the actual software and our support staff before investing a dime.
