Consumer Auto Rewards False advertising Gift card/Gas Card and if you cancel in Trial period, they still bill you! Tampa Bay Internet

Okay, so I got a call from a person telling me that they would send me a $100 Gas card that required no hoops to jump thru to get. It was mine whether I kept their "membership" or not. I let them take their $1.95 out of my account and then waited for the trial packet to arrive.

It did. I looked thru it, quickly realizing their product was garbage and that gas card (usable as soon as you receive it) was just a voucher that you had to complete "web offers" to receive (after 6 weeks). It was a joke. So I immediately called the number to cancel. I was disconnected 4 different times over the course of an hour before finally speaking to someone. I canceled, they told me I would not be billed and that was that.

1 week later. I look at my bank statement online, and low and behold I have been charged $54.95 from "REWARDSGAS". I call them immediately, talk to "DAVID WEBB" who was helpful, until I said I wanted a refund. He told me I never called in to cancel and that he couldn't refund my money or he would lose his job.

I asked him if he was calling me a liar, or just unwilling to do a refund. He was sketchy after that, and ultimately would NOT BUDGE on giving me a refund even though I called in before the trial ended. He just kept repeating that I had never called in.

Please, if these people call you.. Run away. The product is a lie, what they do provide is a joke. A triple-AAA membership is way more valuable and about half the cost of these people.

I have my bank going after them now, so hopefully Bank of America will take care of these scammers for me. It is a scam. It is a ripoff. It is a joke of a company. I highly recommend hanging up on them if they call you trying to peddle this garbage to you.

If you call in and get David Webb, he will be nice until he calls you a liar and start covering his own butt. His manager's name is "DAVID MURPHY" and he won't talk to you, since he probably gets ripped a new one 200 times a day from people who have been ripped off.
