I have never had a cell phone, so i tried out this company. I received a new Motorola wx345 phone and asked for 300 minutes per month for $20.00 a month. I belong to AARP and get a little bit of a discount. This was done on 8/17/11. My phone arrived by priority mail about 5 days. I set it all up according to there instructions. From the very day i received this phone, i had problems. There were no bars on the phone for siginal strenght. I had to go outside of my apartment and drive about 2 miles before i could get any bars on this phone in order to use it. I called the company and told them about the problem.
They did everything they could from there main office to keep me happy with this phone. The main problem is that they never fixed the problem at all and my phone would never work from inside of my apartment of which was of no use to me. I called this company many times about this and even e-mailed them about it. When doing this, i had to get into the car and drive to a location that i could get siginal strength. Finally got tired of there service and i canceled everything on 9/2/11 and sent the phone back to them. They offer a 100% satisfaction Guarantee on there service. I am to get my $35.00 activation fee back but the phone has cost me $10.90 to ship it back to them by priority mail of which they don't pay you back for.
I realize that this is a small amount of money and according to there guarantee - 45 days of usage or 45 minutes of service whichever comes first - you get a refund. I went beyond the usage minutes according to them because they told me to hang onto the phone and use it as much as possible while they were trying to correct the problem. They blamed everything onto AT&T towers for not putting out enough siginal strenght. This isn't my fault and i told them so and that i expected a FULL REFUND on this account of which they refused to do. A very poor company to do business with and for customer service, don't waste your time as it is worthless.

Do not use their services as the customers service sucks and the owner or office can never be contacted. It is a corporation with mark of the beast, I left them after the CSR told me to f-myself.

After reading of your bad experience with Consumer Cellular, it's too bad that you didn't check Consumer Reports first.
Consumers has consistently put AT&T at the bottom of the wireless service companies.
My suggestion is that if you don't want a contract phone, check Consumers and get one from a top rated company. Or, you can get a Verizon Wireless non-contract phone. Sprint is also OK.

Once again, i have never experienced a company like this one. Upon very POOR customer service and there service upon this phone i got from them, i have now received a bill for 37.87 for minutes so-called used on this phone. The phone NEVER WORKED inside of my apartment. I had to get into my car and drive to an area to get any bars for siginal strength in order to use this phone. This was explained to there customer service many times over and over again. Service began on 8/22/11 and i canceled it on 9/02/11 because of there rotten service. Be very aware of companys like this offering GREAT SERVICE as it is a scam to get you to join there company. Having to pay out of my own pocket 10.90 to send this phone back to them, and now this so-called bill - this is indeed rotten business practice on there part.
