In the interest of full disclosure, I acknowledge I worked for this company.

I finally had my fill after confirming some information that came my way.

The "customer service" dept was a highly secretive area in this company and I learned why.  The company changed hands late in 2008 and once the new owner took over the 'guaranteed refunds' dried up.  In the past the company had issued refunds to those clients whose guaranteed interest savings had not been met.  Under the new owners a new 'stall', 'acknowledge and ignore' system was initiated.  Rather than credit back to the client's credit card the original fee, as had been promised, the new policy called for a check to be issued.  The customer service dept was trained to make ongoing promises that the check would be issued, yet never take any such action.  Eventually, in April 2009 a new Refund Request Form system was created.  Whenever the company failed to achieve interest rate reductions on the credit cards (as was the case approx 80% of the time) the client was required to fill out a Refund Request Form (which included an acknowledgment that they had authorized the original charge), and also agree to a further 90-day wait for any possible refund.  To date this company has over $2 million in "pending refunds", and they are about to re-invent themselves as a new company, and walk away from any obligation.

Further investigation by myself and others revealed the lack of a moral compass on the part of senior management.  The owner, Bryan Mitchell, is a charter member of the "Resume Liars Club" (Google either his name or the club), having lied about his educational background, and then failing to re-pay loans he had taken from his publicly-traded company,  MCG Capital (see Washington Post archives).

The head enforcer, Artie Kraut Crouse, is a known pedophile (his record was expunged) who has on at least two occasions acted in a sexually inappropriate manner with two young male subordinates who were later discharged from the company.
