CONSUMER FIRST Platinum Card ripoff scam Tampa Florida

Possible scam also going by name of PEOPLE FIRST .....

I received this "Acceptance Certificate" and letter stating that I am already approved for a "Platinum Card" with a $5,000 limit, and that a card is already being "reserved" for me. The letter asks for a "one-time only membership fee" of $45 mailed in with this certificate.

The third paragraph clearly states "You may use your platinum card immediately upon receipt for all purchases from credit provider." In other words, you cannot use it for any purchases other than things bought directly from this company, probably by catalog or something like that.

If anyone else receives this "certificate", please note that nowhere on the letter does the Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or any other known credit card logo appear. Also, there is no phone number and no web address on the letter.

Looking at it, it seems to contain much of the same language seen in reports about "PEOPLE FIRST Platinum Card" on this website. Please be aware of this before you send them your money.
