I financed a car thru Consumer Portfolio Services Inc. back in March 2014 and from the beginning of making payments they made it very difficult to do.  They would not accept credit card payments and they would debit your bank account whenever they were ready to do so.  After finding a solution to making payments, many phone calls it end up costing an extra $12.00-$15.00 per month to send payments western union or moneygram servce.

I received very threatening phone calls to both my work and home phones with rude and uprupt customer service representatives any time of day.  I had a problem with my license and was unable to obtain insurance so in order to keep the car from being repo'd I put the car in a monthly parking garage.  THe parking garage payment got behind due to my finances becoming a problem and they contacted Consumer Portfolio when it was all said and done they picked up my car and never informed me until a month later and advised that the car was going to be auctioned off.

I tried to come up with the money but the amount requested was almost the value of the car.  The car is in another state therefore I had to find a way to retrieve it.  Now I receive a letter from them stating that this is going to be on my credit report.  I would like to find a way to settle this with them and not have it on my credit report and not have them service amy loans to the New York City area without the consumer being aware of the many issues this company has.

Hey OP

AUTHOR: Empire - (USA)

What is the matter with you? You posted a very public review on a very public website and then have the nerve to tell a commenter it's none of their business?! YOU MADE IT EVERYONE'S BUSINESS BY POSTING THIS ALLEGED "RIPOFF"! What other "details" do people need to know? That you've attempted to make your car payments with a credit card? That you had to resort to Western Union and MoneyGram to make car payments? Most people have checking accounts. Why don't you? And if you do, why aren't you using it to pay your bills?

Something doesn't add up here but I'm sure you have an excuse for it. More than likely, it's everyone's fault BUT yours.

And, of course, to add to the fun, you had a problem with your driver's license, your car insurance and your finances, so you got behind on your bills and yet, you still post a very public complaint here saying this company has issues? No, sweetheart; YOU have issues and a lot of them. Until you learn the basics of personal finance, you will continue to have them.

Good luck with the court judgements coming your way.

Uneducated Remarks

Let's begin by me informing you and all others reading this statement that I am making to you directly.  To clarify I am gainfully employed and have been all of my working days. My credit standing is of no business of yours or any one else for that matter.  I am apalled that you would ASSUME anything without knowing all the details.  Also to inform you  not everyone that has dealt with Consumer Portfolio are "welfare receipients".  You are most definitely in your own corrupt world with only a miserable existence to make such comments.  If I did or did not hide my car it was my right to do so.  When and how I pay bills is of no concern of yours.  I suggest you keep your personal issues to yourself this way they don't contaminate the rest of the world!!!

It Is The Company Which Has "Issues"???

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 17, 2015

It was YOU who destroyed your credit which requires you to be placed with a subprime/deadbeat lender because no bank wants to do business with you.  It was YOU who continues to have a history of NOT paying your bills on time.  It was YOU who failed to maintain the required insurance.  It was YOU who tried to hide the car in a parking garage and wouldn't even pay the bill there either...and you say the Company has "issues"???

This is typical, sorry, subprime thinking mentality...its ALWAYS somebody elses fault.

You sorry, stinking, welfare type deadbeats make us all want to vomit!
