this number kept showing up on my caller id for the last 2 weeks. before i answered my phone, i went online to find out information about them. i am glad i did.
i answered their call today and they stated that i applied for a credit card 9 months ago with them. when i asked what address they had, they stated my current address. i just moved 2 months ago when i bought my house.
then she started asking me for my checking acct number. is there anyone that this company can be reported to and shut down?

Ive gone through this previously, but here goes again!
Consumer Report (actually Consumer Reports) is a magazine published by the Consumers Union. It has had an excellent reputation for many decades. It DOES NOT offer credit cards over the phone or by mail. Period! It has NOTHING to do with offering credit cards!!!
Research provided by another very concerned reader, Jacqueline Hammond, Indiana, seems to indicate that the name of the offending company might be Consumer First, LLC.
Where you people keep coming up with the name Consumer Report is beyond me! If you don't have the real company name, don't make one up!
