I received a letter in the mail just like other victims have from this Consumer Rsearch Group.com. My first red flag on this was that the word Research was mis-spelled in the title of the company's name. Also, there were alot of grammatical error through out the whole letter. The letter stated that they wanted me to deposit this certified bank check into my account and withdraw the money from my account to take to the Moneygram store at the local Wal-mart to do research on their customer service. I was to keep 200 of the cash for my time and services and send 1300 to a so called relative living in Ottawa, Ontario. Once the research was done, I was to fax the attached report to the fax number listed in the letter.

Another red flag for me was that this letter also had a Canadian Stamp on it, however, it did not have any other marks on the letter other than it was addressed to my in handwriting and the cashier's check from the bank had a pre-printed signature on it which is bogus because I used to work for a bank as a teller and customer service rep and know that these are not signed with a pre-printed signature on them.

Yet, another flag was that the gentleman that wrote the letter: Michael D. Willis (who speaks with an arabic accent) keeps calling me back from different local numbers in the state in which I live. They are as listed: 678.664.3118 and 404.974.9190. He called me the next day to check to see if I had cashed the check yet and sent the money. I told him I had not. It also stated in the letter that they got my information from a resume that I had posted on a local job site.

In doing research on this company, I found that they are using the web address of a company in Houston, TX that does control risk international work.

Please do not fall for this scam. I do not know what they want, but verify the check with the bank and the company with the Better Business Bureau and google it if necessary. They are trying to rip you off in these hard economic times.

I still have the letter, check, and envelope if anyone that is investigating this matter would like to see.
Looks like the same scam from other people that have reported to the website for Control Products Corporation - Consumer Research Group. Check these out too.
