I responded to an employment opportunity on Craigslist promising big income and no selling.  I'n not naive so I went into this encounter with my eyes wide open.  Here is what transpired.

I emailed the the person who posted the ad and was sent the following response -

Sincerely,

I watched the video, it was very good and got you very pumped up about the opportunity.

I followed the instructions and contacted the company to schedule the phone appointment.  I received an phone call from a guy who sounded absolutely clueless but I went along with what he had to say.  IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT I'M ALREADY IN THE SAME BUSINESS THAT THESE GUYS ARE SUPPOSEDLY IN and this guy definitely didn't know much of anything.  At the end of the call he scheduled the phone appointment with Mr. Canvasser for the following day.

About 1/2 hour before my phone appointment with Mr. Canvasser I received an email letting me know that a meeting had come up unexpectedly and I would be contacted the next day by
the National Director of Affiliates, Mr. John Green.

I wrote back asking what had happened to Mr. Canvasser and I was told that Mr. Canvasser was not taking any calls for the remainder of the month due to personal business and I could wait until next month or talk to Mr. Green.  I chose to talk to Mr. Green.

The next day, right on time, Mr. Green called.  He had not seen my resume and when I asked he fumbled around and cleverly stated that he had been "briefed" on my background.  It was funny how he danced around all the questions that I had and even funnier given that with my work history, these loan companies are all over me to work for them.  My first clue was that Mr. Green called from a BLOCKED NUMBER.

The kicker to the whole deal was that this company (like all the other ripoff report postings) told me they would mail 5,000 direct mail pieces into my market each month with my name and phone number and that I would receive a 2% (outrageously high) response rate equal to approx. 100 leads per month.  BUT, in order to show them my commitment I needed to send them a refundable deposit of $1488.  This made me very suspicious and when I asked more questions like why, if they were such a great company they had such a crappy website with no content (http://www.consumersourcefinancial.com/index.html).  I also made mention of at least one report I'd seen on this site and the dancing got faster and faster.

The funniest part was that I was then told that I was to call Mr. Canvasser to finalize my new employment and make arrangements to pay my refundable deposit.  Wait, I thought he was not taking anymore calls due to personal business?  I was told he was taking calls.

The bottom line is, this is a scam!!!
