I fell for it in March of 2006. I answered an offer for a free Gateway Media Player Laptop. These are jsut 2 of the links involved.

I completed all of the forms, kept all evidence of cinformations, etc. There was a web site given to check on your confirmations. But, many of them did not did show up as confirmed, even though I received the merchandise and/or subscriptions, crdir cards, etc. But I never received the premium, as promised. Then I had to cancel or make sure that I returned all of the items within 30 days so as not to get charged further for automatic shipments and subscriptions renewals. Much more cost and trouble that it was worth--2-3 hours of a neverending "Bogus" survey and a big WASTE OF TIME. These things should be outlawed.!!!!!!

CONSUMER SUGGESTIONS: I you want to try out one of these deals, make sure that you keep track of each page and links that you are on. They tend to change names of companies and websites from page to page--so that you dont know where to follow-up for your prize. Even then, you may not be able to collect.

According to another Rip Off Report on this site (Report: #129866), a person was able to get his premium by reporting it to the attorney general of that state. I don't know how hw found out which state the company was in. That might be an option here.
