CONTRA COSTA DEPARTMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES CIVIL SERVANTS GOING INSANE.. they wanted health insurance on my stepdaughter and we GOT healh insurance on my stepdaughter!! abused & mistreated Martinez California

My husband has an 18-year-old daughter that he must support for one more year, as she did not graduate this year, so he has to pay until she is 19 or graduates from high school, whichever comes first. He pays child support religiously.

Contra Costa Department of Child Support Services served my husband's employer with an order for him to provide any health insurance available to him for his daughter. We talked to the caseworker and she stated that as long as his daughter was insured, we could also put her on my health insurance.

What I have available is far superior coverage than what he has available, which is why my husband is on mine. We have $0 copayments on office visits, hospitalization, emergency room, etc. Our ONLY out of pocket is $5.00 for prescriptions. And, best of all, it costs me NOTHING to insure my husband or stepdaughter. What he has available is the same insurance with $20.00 copayments for office visits, copayments for hospitalization/emergency and $15.00 prescription copayments at at a cost of over $250.00 a month. I put her on my insurance, it is ALREADY in effect, we fax the confirmation paperwork to child support services, I talk to someone who assures me that the order will be lifted. Another plus is that I can leave her on this plan after she graduates,as long as she is in school at least half-time, up to age 25.

Today is a different story. The call center tells us that is MUST be on my husband's company's insurance..which she cannot get on until January. So in the meanwhile, even though she is covered by my coverage, they will not take her off Medi-Cal (which my husband must pay back after she turns 19). Personally, I see this as a scam to charge him interest on this for awhile longer.

They wanted health coverage on my stepdaughter, they got health coverage on my daughter, far superior to what is available to the public. We do intend to ask for a hearing on this situation.

One tries to comply and the bureaucrats still complain.
