On 11/24/06 I bought a 06 Chevrolet Cobalt from Cookeville Honda.

The vehicle had 36K on it at purchase time. They had the window sticker removed when I arrived to see/pick up car. They sold me an extended warranty.

There was no window sticker or any paperwork to indicate whether it was "as is" or with "warranty".

I left the lot and drove 1/2 mile to Red Lobster and after parking discovered two scratches on the drivers side front to back which had not been disclosed and were NOT shown on the picture of the car on the internet.

Next I drove on Interstate 40 at highway speed and discovered vibration. I thought maybe it was the new tires being too "heavy" for the car. I took it to my own service center to have the wheels balanced. It turned out that the two right wheels were out of balance and the two on the left side were bend from hitting a stationary object. This vehicle had been in an accident and neither Cookeville Honda or CARFAX disclosed this.

Upon arriving at home I discovered that Cookeville Honda had not given me a copy of the extended warranty paperwork. I called and was told they would sent it right out. Several weeks and many phone calls later I finally received my copy of the extended warranty paperwork. After reviewing the terms and conditions I decided that it was not what I wanted nor was it worth the cost.

I contacted the Great Lakes Warranty office to cancel, and was told that they had not received the paperwork from the dealership. Finally I was told to send a fax to the dealer requesting to cancel the warranty. I did this to no avail. About two weeks later I received a call from the dealership and they said they were processing the check for mailing. I have not received it as of this date.

I would would avoid Cookeville Honda for the following reasons:

They lie about what is in stock and what is not.
They take it upon themselves to pick out a vehicle other than the one you want which costs more and then submit loan applications on your behalf for a vehicle you have no interest in.

When you discover what they have done they try to talk you into purchasing a vehicle which you never wanted ot even inquired about.

When you agree to a completely different vehicle as I have done in the case of the 06 Chevrolet Cobalt they do not afford an opportunity to test drive;they simple have temp tags on the car, paperwork ready to be signed.
They fail to disclose hard to see at first look body damage.

They fail to disclose defects which one cannot see with the eye as in the case of the two bend rims.

No one there seems to know what is going on; they seems to be in a state of complete disarray.

I would NOT return to this dealer again, nor would I recommend Cookeville Honda to anyone.

There are other reports on the net about this dealers practices.
