Core Coaching and Counselling Geri Eakins, inhibits progress with negativity Kelowna, British Columbia Canada

I had the displeasure of having Geri Eakins of Core Coaching and Counselling as a counsellor and would like to share my viewpoint. Geri Eakins did not offer any "Spark" or "Motivation" or  "Enthusiasm" as she claims to offer on her website - and I don't believe for a minute that she really listened. There is a counselling technique by which counsellors are taught to "listen" by remaining silent while the client shares. This is meant to illicit more sharing within the client and to not feed into any sort of thoughts or drama. I think that Geri Eakins takes this *book learned* technique too far! She remains silent alright and will nod her head every now and again, hardly acting as a "Catalyst" for success. Hence, my point - being *book learned* no matter how old you are (Geri Eakins is probably is her late 50's) doesn't mean a darn thing when it comes to life experience and 'Living Your Best Life' and following your dreams. "Spirit and Soul" go hand in hand with life experience and not learning how to counsell by reading books! I am a young university graduate who has a lot of education but also have had more life experience than an 80 year person who sat at home and read books all their life. I got the impression that Ms. Eakins has some of her own fullfilling of dreams to accomplish - and how can that happen by sitting and nodding....

I found Geri Eakins to impede and inhibit any sort of progress to obtaining my "goal" by what I can only refer to as a lack of enthusiasm and negative energy. She actually brought me down and did not show optimism or even seem interested. Again, this was in part, due to her constant silence and ever so slightly nodding her head...this is counselling?
