Where do I begin with this agency? Multiple times I have had to request payment for jobs I had booked months prior. I have had to request through email and phone calls multiple times if the payment was on the way only to not be responded to.
Only when threatening legal action did I receive any sort of contact via an email stating the payment had been processed. Despite this, payment still has not been received though the booking was almost 9 months ago.
After contacting the production company, I learned the agency had been invoiced 3 weeks after completing the job. Other friends from various agencies had been payed within one month of the booking.
If you are truly serious about your career as an actor, actress, or model, be very wary of this agency. There are numerous other reputable agencies that actually care about their clients, their actors, and have great working relationships.

Core Talent Does Not Comply with IRS Law
AUTHOR: Anonymous - ()
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, October 21, 2014
I am a previous actor represented by Core Talent. Teresa Andrion's rebuttal stating that Core Talent complies with IRS law is false.
According to IRS law, Form 1099 must be sent to the contractor by 31 January.
6 February 2014 – I received a 1099 showing an incorrect amount. I queried this and Teresa subsequently sent me another two incorrect 1099s.
It was apparent to me at this stage that the financials and record keeping of the company were in great disarray. I also became gravely concerned at the financial state of the company, given the disorganization and amount of time it was taking to receive monies owed me.
12 February 2014 – I sent the following email to Teresa:
“Hi Teresa
Because of the delay in getting my checks after the client has paid you and because I'm getting 1099's from clients, I'm going to report my income earned in the year I did the job, regardless of when I receive the checks.
I've done up a little spreadsheet (attached) outlining all my earnings this year. You'll see the Core component to be included in my 1099 from you is:
$(amount withheld).
Can you please send me a new 1099 reflecting this amount.
Thanks!
I received no response from Teresa
28 February 2014 – I sent the following email to Teresa:
“Hey Teresa
Can you please send me my correct 1099 with $(amount withheld) as per attached spreadsheet.
Also, checks still outstanding from 2013 are:
Client and amount witheld
Client and amount witheld
Both are 60 days since job
Thanks”
I received no response.
9 March 2014 – I sent the following email:
“Hi Teresa
(Name withheld) is on Spring break so this is the only week we can file our taxes.
Please send me my correct 1099 for $(amount withheld) as per my previous emails and attached spreadsheet.
I need this ASAP. We are going away Thursday so please email it to me Monday 10 March.
Thanks”
10 March 2014 – finally received correct 1099 from Core Talent, 38 days late according to IRS law.

This actor failed to submit an updated W-9 form promptly, which is a requirement any time an actor's address changes. Once an updated W-9 is on file, the agency is able to process the payment. This is standard procedure for any company who is in the business of hiring independent contractors, so that an accurate 1099 can be filed with the IRS. Core Talent chooses to comply with IRS policies even if the actor is unhappy with the process.
