My old credit union , United Christian Community C.U. was taken over by Cornerstone Community Financial C.U. Here is a statement from Cornerstone news letter "We can save you money.Stop paying high fees for your checking account.Dont settle! You can have it all-simplicity,convenience, and affordabilty."

Since becomming a Cornerstone member, they have taken over $400 out of my checking account for over draft, even though there is more than enough money to cover the checks!!! ( my old credIt union never did this,United Christian Community C.U.) Thier excuse...pending withdrawls? Like I said at the time the checks came in, there is money in my checking account, and more than enough in my savings account.
I just filed a complaint with the Michigan General Atterneys Office.
I know I am not the olny one who has had this happen to them by Cornerstone Community Financial C.U.
Futher action will happen soon...watch the news!!!

As a manager of Cornerstone Community Financial, I would like to respond to our frustrated member. We absolutely will pay on ANY check or debit card transaction if the money is available at the time the transaction goes through. The process is automatic and electronically verifies whether or not the funds are available. If the funds are available the item is paid. If the funds are not available, we offer our members a service to pay on these items. This service protects members from checks bouncing and temporarily takes the account into the negative. If a member does not want this service they simply opt out. This service is intended to help the members from financial embarrassment and frustration, and the fee is simply covering the cost of us taking a risk of allowing our accounts to go into the negative. We are a not-for-profit company here to serve our members. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further and will work to come to a resolution.
