HELLO JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THIS SCAM HAS HIT MIAMI FLORIDA NOW. JUST RECEIVED THIS LETTER TODAY 5/16/2008 STATING THAT I HAD WON A $125,000 CANADIAN LOTTERY. WHAT MAKES THIS UNIQUE IS THAT THEY SEND YOU, WHAT APPEARS TO BE A REAL CASHABLE CHECK WITH YOUR NAME IMPRINTED ON IT CASHABLE THROUGH A NEW COLUMBIA, PA BANK WITH THE SAME NAME AS THE CANANDIAN BANK IN THE AMOUNT OF $4875.00. AS I READ ON I SAW WHERE THE SCAM SEEMS TO BE.THEY WANT YOU TO SEND THEM A CHECK FOR $2875.00 TO "COVER APPLICABLE GOVERNMENT TAXES" ON YOUR WINNINGS. I ALSO TRIED CALLING THE NUMBER LISTED 1-647-829-4752 but no one answered.
Thanks for being there, not that I would have sent them a check but its good to see that there is a website out there that is looking out for potential consumer scams.
