I spent hours searching for the right person to haul my horse from NC to IL and THOUGHT I had found the perfect company for the job in Corny Creek Livestock out of Raleigh NC. I was promised a box stall for her to ride in, and air conditioned trailer, stops every 3-4 hours allowing the horses to get out and walk around, and even a tracking option allowing me to see where the trailer was, how fast it was going etc. not to mention a "direct route". I was told that he would be taking a couple horses to KY and then would be taking my mare to her home in IL. I paid double what others quoted me as it all sounded perfect, or too good to be true as it turned out. To my horror, when Keith made it to KY to drop off the other horses, while tracking him online, I watched as he stopped for 17 minutes, (only enough time to get horses off the trailer, not enough time to allow any to get off and walk around and reload), turned the trailer around and headed back east. I stayed up all night watching and by morning he made it almost to the NY state line in far east PA. When he reached PA, he again stopped, this time for 13 minutes, and began making his way back west. MY horse made it to her destination 44 hours later, when it should have be an 18 hour ride for her, and in total taking her 1360 miles out of the way, longer than the 1100 mile trip she was supposed to take in total. To add insult to injury, he himself only stopped the trailer for 3 hours to rest in the entire 44 hours he had her with him. Legally he should only have driven 12 hours max before taking at least 10 hours to rest, but for some reason he did not find it necessary to abide by the laws, let alone stay true to the contact I had signed, instead it was a complete breech of that contract that promised me a direct route. The worst part of it all came when my horse finally got off that trailer. She was exteremly dehydrated and the most sick I have seen her in the 9 years I have owned her. This was last week and she is still recovering. The vet thinks she may have "tied up", which takes a serious toll on their kidneys and can have lasting affects  on her overall health. I have emailed this company asking why exactly they did this to me, and what's worse, why my horse had to pay such a dear price for the mistake I made in trusting them to get her to her destination safely. I have yet to hear anything back and have been advised by my vet to conatct a lawyer as he says what happened to her is "nothing short of animal abuse". The breech of contract was bad enough, but the condition in which my horse arrived was about my worst nightmare come true. The Corny Creek Livestock company claims to have "100% satisifaction", though now I realize that there is actually no way to post through their website about the experience, leaving me to believe that 100% satisfaction is just another one of their lies. Another few hours on the trailer with him and this story may have an all together different ending, so suppose for that I am grateful. I just hope this allows someone to avoid the mistake I made it trusting this man and company. There are good haulers out there, Corny Creek Livestock is just not one of them.

False Story Trying to Get FREE Service

AUTHOR: CornyCreek Reply - ()

A search of Corny Creek Livestock on uship and google will show TONS of references very happy with our service and in fact out of thousands of customers only ONE filed this complaint and it was simply out of extortion in an attempt not to get charged. Here is the complete list of facts on this event.

1) ALL our customers are given a page to watch the trucks IN REAL TIME on a map and all trucks locations, speed and direction are recorded by an independent company. Her story did NOT match the data recorded by our tracking service.

2) Customers before and after her pickup and dropoff location also contradict her timeline story

Our reputation on the internet is very well known and we have shipped many times for companies such as Riatta Intl out of California which has trick horses which appear in movies and have won numerous world events. We also have worked with "The One Armed Bandit" who is PRCA's entertainer of year 8 years in a row and both can attest to our professional animal care which goes WAY BEYOND the industry standards. All who know our company knows this was an outrageous claim only used in an attempt to get a refund.
