Counterfit Systems Shirestone Custom Countertops Gross Misrepresentation, Product Failure, Improper Training Ripoff NIXA Missouri

This is  "unknown John" and I did not set up blogs or other methods to promote my comments. Actually, if you are a Shirestone customer or dealer call Shirestone and ask for a complete listing of Shirestone dealers nationally. You will not be given this information since there is no central connecting point for dealers or locator systesm readily available for the retail customer. Doesn't this seem odd?

I will recommend that anyone with a business practice issue contact the State Attorney's Office of Missouri and file a complaint. Also file a BBB report so that others don't get bilked the way so many have already.

Yes, the product looks sexy but the vast majority have been screwed but you may be the exception. Do yourself and your wallet and customers a favor, buy a lottery ticket your chances for success are much better!

Also ask yourself when you have your attorney review your "Dealership Agreement", why there would be a clause prohibiting you from contacting other dealers? Very odd wouldn't you say? Unless, Shirestone wants to keep everyone in the "dark" as to their idenity and from comparing notes or forming an opposing group for legal resourse?

Several x-employees are now coming forward since they can no longer live with thier conscience and the knowledge of all the skeletons in the closet. Most everyone writing in support of this product has a vested interest and their motives are not honorable. Greed is a terrible thing! I have nothing to gain and I know this product better than most, I was an original supporter before this got out of hand!

My husband and I have been installing Shirestone Custom Countertops for over five years. Most of our business comes from referrals. We have several repeat customers.

We have NEVER experienced product failure. The product does not fail. The installer can create problems by not following installaton instructions. All of these problems are correctable.

Based on looking at the pictures of the failed countertop, it is apparent the dealer/installer did not follow instructions for an outdoor installation--most of which is just common sense.

I agree with the original poster that the original training was a bit vague and did not really address the best ways to avoid common mistakes. The training did give an adequate start to the process. After training, I went home and built a couple of samples to practice on before I went to a customer's job; just to help work any bugs out. But what do you expect when the company is only a few years old?

Shirestone is on the cutting edge of countertop material and design. There are always unknowns and bugs that have to get worked out in any business, especially a new one. But there are also great benefits to being in early. I got my dealership as soon as I could because I knew Shirestone was going to catch on in a big way. In my area, there is a lot of granite use and a lot of people are seeing granite as old hat. People are moving to healthier, more durable, more green, and more locally based products. Shirestone allows me to offer all of these things to the company. So there are advantages and disadvantages to being one of the first to try a product or company. I feel that the disadvantages are manageable and the advantages I am already seeing. I was able to turn my original investment into being a Shirestone dealer into a 100% ROI, doubling my money back. Not too shabby for running the dealership out of my garage.

As for the owners of Shirestone, they run the company and treat their dealers with respect and are constantly looking for new products, molds, and ways to help their dealers. The people they have for customer support have always been reachable and have had great answers to problems I have encountered.

My overall perspective is that any business requires a learning curve, course corrections, and fixing mistakes. After doing over 1500 sq ft of Shirestone, I am finding it VERY profitable, impressive to the customers, and highly desirable to customers.

I have Shirestone in my kitchen and all 3 bathrooms and believe me when I say that with 3 boys (two of them teens) we have put Shirestone to the test. It has been the most beautiful and durable product I have seen on the market in its class. It didn't crack or fail in anyway! I have to wonder about this guy who would write the bad things he did and it didn't take long to find out. Apparently he contracted a big job to do with the Shirestone product and walked away and never finished it. They are suing him for the money he stole from them and he is trying to blame the product to get out of it. NICE TRY BUDDY! But it's not going to work! Everyone (and I mean everyone) who has Shirestone in their houses are Extremely happy with it! I would not tell my friends to try it if I didn't think so believe me. I'm glad I saw the crap post you made buddy because I want everyone to know what a fraud you are and to talk about Shirestone like you do just makes you look like a fool. LOL! I LOVE MY SHIRESTONE! I first saw Shirestone while visiting my parents who live in Springfield, Missouri & have the countertops in their home. During that visit I ended up meeting Mr. & Mrs. Jecker personally at their office/showroom.

My husband & I live in Kansas City and were planning on building a new home in the near future. After seeing my parents' tops as well as the Shirestone showroom we decided to use Shirestone for all of our tops.

We were referred to a Shirestone Dealer in our area and I must echo the comments of the other posters about the terrific installation quality- our particular installer did a great job and worked with our designer to come up with tops that would go well with our decor.

We had one small problem area develop on our kitchen counter, but he came right out & took care of it. To this day you can not tell there was ever anything wrong with that spot.

We are extremely happy with our countertops and recommend Shirestone without reservation.

After seeing my parents' counters, meeting the Jeckers in person and now having my own Shirestone tops, I cannot remotely associate the word "scam" with anything related to Shirestone.

Not only does my Shirestone countertop look great, but the gentlemen who installed it were very meticulous and appeared to be true craftsmen who took a lot of pride in what they do. They spoke very highly of the Shirestone product and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work.

I was particularly impressed with the care they took working in my home- the Shirestone was installed over the original formica.

Based on the quality of my countertop and the professionalism of the installers it's hard for me to put much belief in the comments & allegations of the original poster. Sounds like someone with a grudge.

Having read the ripoff report on Shirestone counter tops, I am amazed that the editor of Ripoff Reports allowed it to be published. There is no specific reference to actual failures, no dates, no personal statements of experience. While I appreciate the option of autoniminity, I would appreciate the minimal honesty of a full name.

Because this report is listed at the top of a Google search, I am wondering if this complaint is from a competitor of Shirestone, and not a legitimate complaint. As an internet businessman, I know how difficult getting a top ranking can be. Is it possible the unknown "John" set up multiple blogs in order to get a top listing?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if Ripoff Reports does not do due diligence, then they have impuned their own credibility.

I don't know the circumstances re: "John" and his allegations, but here is what I do know:

Several years ago Mr. Jecker installed a kitchen counter top in my home in SW Missouri. I was fascinated by the entire process & everyone that saw the finished product was pretty much blown away by the look.

A couple years ago I moved out-of-state and called the local Shirestone dealer to get Shirestone counters in my new home. Same great result & a new group of friends & neighbors that were blown away by my kitchen counter!

In both instances, I thought the workmanship was top notch and I was treated in a first class manner by both Mr. Jecker as well as the local installer for my current home.

We have Shirestone tops in both our kitchen & bathroom & and just like the gentleman from St Louis who posted, we've really been happy with them.

I had seen Shirestone at a friend's house a couple years ago and wanted it for our new home. The granite top we had in the kitchen of our previous home was nice, but the Shirestone has such a great look and also has been much easier to take care of. Everyone who has seen our tops thinks they look great.

I had a Shirestone counter top installed in our kitchen over 3 years ago- it still looks great. My wife thinks it was the best money we spent when we remodeled. My in-laws liked ours so much they had Shirestone put in their new home not long after ours. The installer was very friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend.
