Counrty Acres kennels is a ripoff!

I witnessed this first hand during the two years I had to do community service there. They call themselves the Arlington Humane Society yet there is nothing about them that represents the Humane Society except for the name.

Not once during the time I was there did they have any animals that were homeless. People would bring in stray animals there and they turned them all away. Unless an animal was paid to be kept there they had to leave.

I noticed that people would donate money thinking that they were donating to a good cause but that was not the case. All this place was is a kennel. You paid for the time your animal was kept there. I witnessed two animals die there taht had been left buy thier owners. They were in a outside cage for over a year before they died.

There were classes to train the animals but there was not much to it. Nothing that anyone could not do themselves. The people that ran this place were pretty hateful. How can a place call themselves the Humane Society but have no interest in anything but making money for themselves? People sent there to do community service just made it easier for the owners not to have to hire more help. Free help for the owners! The humane Society needs to look into who they allow to represent them. This place needs to be invetiagated.

Country Acres Kennels has been kind enough to donate some space to The Arlington Humane Society. The humane society does have an adoption program as well as operate low cost vaccination clinics, low cost spay/neuter clinics, obedience training and other educational programs. The Arlington Humane Society is a no-kill shelter that does not operate like the city pound. It takes in only those animals that can be adopted in a reasonable time and gives the owner free obedience classes after adoption. It is apparent that the person writing this report does not know anything about the kennel or the humane society.

As you read this report please note that the writer was doing court mandated community service. I feel certain he resented being there but perhaps he should have asked some questions before being so quick to criticize. The Humane Society made the decision to discontinue the community service program due to the negative impact the community service workers had on the humane society volunteers. Country Acres Kennels is a separate business and only donates space to the programs of the Humane Society.
