 Country Grocer Lake Cowichan is the worst grocery store I've ever shopped at in the 40 years I've lived on Vancouver island. They rarely have what's in their flyers and if they do it's sold out in the first couple hours in day one. They don't sell fresh foods, yet their prices are above average. They sell best before "today" meats at full price with no red sticker warning shoppers that if you don't cook it within a couple hours, it will be bad. Most stores put this on display with big red stickers saying best before and several discount stickers at the till. Top price meats are poor cuts and poor quality. The charge you to cut their homemade bread- what ever happen to giving your customers what the rest of the island does without a second thought little lone a second payment!? They sell rotten onions and potatoes, fruit, veggies and berries on a regular. They sell the cheapest junk you could only find at a dollar store and charge ridiculous amounts. Old products already past due date, full price. I've experienced rude youth who they hire to work, yet they act like their parents are forcing them to more the lawn so they come across as snotty and not wanting to do this job. What the hell am I paying you a fortune for? If there's a holiday, they up their prices, if there's a boil water advisory, they jack up the cost of water. The hugest rip off artists I've ever met!
