I purchased a Coventry inventory home in Boerne, Texas in a development callled Esperanza right off of the 46. It has been a nightmare from the very first day I moved in. I worked hard to put things away and then filled the bath tub for a soak. The shower in the master bath filled up with mud and water and would not drain. The next morning I started a load of laundry while unpacking again and the other two full baths filled with mud and water. I called Coventry and they told me to call the plumbers on the warranty list.I did call Casa Mechanical and they said it was not an emergency and would not come out till the following Monday to look at the problem. It was a disaster. Every time I used any water in the bathrooms or the laundry room all of the tubs filled with mud and only slowly drained.

At the same time I attempted to use the garbage disposal and it would not turn on. One of the managers came to check it and said it was broken because it appeared one of the tile men appeared to have poured grout down the sink. Once again I was told it would not be dealt with until after the weekend. This is a near $400,000. dollar new home and people expect that everything would work properly right away. And when there is a problem the new homeowner should not have to suffer through their mistakes or their cheap subcontracted work or be forced to wait for days to have issues dealt with. Moving is traumatic enough. The following week the plumbers came and repaired the mess. In the meantime I had walked around in the yard and noticed how uneven the yard seemed to be. I was told that the builder would send out someone to roll the grass in an attempt to level it. I spoke with three different landscapers who informed me that it would be a serious challenge to mow the grass because it was so uneven and full of lumps and bumps. One even suggested that someone could break an ankle because of how badly the yard was unlevel. The experts also informed me that the grass would be an issue to mow because of the uneveness and would always have scalped areas. The yards on either side of me were the same. I waited for the builder to send someone to attempt to rectify the issue but time passed and nothing.

Spring came and the tree the builder had planted never bloomed and was obviously dead and I approached the builder who said landscaping was not under warranty. It was dead when they planted it and they stated it would not be replaced. I filed a new complaint about the yard. It had gotten much worse. No one wanted to mow it. When the builder got the complaint he decided to "dress" the issue with new topsoil. They sent workers to dump dirt all over the front, back, and side yards which they said would level out the lumps and bumps. The neighbor had the same issue and after their treatment it still has terribly uneven grass. The worker for the builder did not even consider the fact that I have an 11 month old golden retriever puppy who now has to go out in the dirt and mud after the sprinklers are on. My yorkies also have no place to go. And the yard will never be even. Coventry is so cheap that they have decided they are finished with the yard and I just have to live with it. What a disastrous mess! The attitude of the builders has been extremely arrogant. They basically have made it clear that they are not going to be responsible for the mess.

To top it all off last month I could not connect with my wifi and the service I use had me go through and check to see if the various outlets are working. Several would not work and then this past weekend when I attempted to use my espresso maker it would not turn on. I checked the other outlets and realized none in the kitchen were working. I called the electricians on the warranty list and no one called me back until after the weekend when they informed me they could not come out till the following Thursday nearly a week after the problem began. I had to make coffee in my bathroom over the weekend. This all in a 5 month old home. And it was the same story, it was not an emergency. I had no electricity in the kitchen or dining room all weekend until that next Thursday. Here I am stuck in a new home where the builder takes the money for the home and does not honor the warranties in a fair and timely fashion. The consumer suffers while the greedy homebuilder Coventry just says tough luck. Two of the neighbors and two of the homes for sale on my street have the same uneven yard problem. When I spoke with the homebuilder it just smiled arrogantly and said everything has been taken care of. No one should be treated this poorly and unfairly. I am ready to go through the horror of just moving just to get away from the lies and the procrastinations of these builllders. Hopefully anyone who reads this will be better informed as I wish I had been.

Coventry MHI is terrible/Class Action

AUTHOR: Shelley - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, March 21, 2019

We have a horror story with this company as well.  We are getting homeowners together to file a class action against them, they need to be held accountable for what they have done to so many families.  Would you like to be a part?  We are still in the process of getting other homeowners together.
