This case was very simple.  I was retained for 9 days to review documents regarding a conviction.  I arrived in New Hampshire and was presented with 2 huge boxes of material which did not even include the second trial transcript.  I spent 9 days, averaging 14 to 15 hours a day going through material and did not come close to reaching the end.  Feeling sorry for the family, I told them I  would continue at no cost to them and when I returned to Mississippi, they sent the transcript of the second trial and other documents, not including what I brought back.  I worked on their case as I could, between other cases and when I returned to Mississippi, for one year, finally finished with the 2nd trial transcript and was about to complete the first trial, then prepare an overall analysis of everything.  Several months after I left, this woman began wanting "updates." Emails confirm all of this.  I told the woman who retained us, "When I am working on my own time, I do not provide updates and is she wanted them, I would complete my work and send it to her.  "Oh no, please go on."  I did and once again, here came a request for an update.  I was out-of-state working and told my office to box up everything and send it to her along with a note telling her to explain to her brother why I had stopped.  I had already explained careully to that family that there was nothing I found that would even assist them in an appeal, but it would possibly in other petitions or as a defense if the man got a new trial.  Again, everything is carefully supported by emails.  I gave that woman 1 year of free work, taking time away from my family, and never got so much as a thank you.  Here is a simple question?  Name a person who could have possibly gone through what they provided me with in 9 days?  It was not possible.  In another complaint, along the same lines as this one, I asked that person to retract and apologize 3 times.  They refused and on March 12, 2010, we filed a civil suit against her asking for $200,000.00 actual damages and $500,000.00 in punitive damages.  This woman who made this unjustified and absolutely false complaint is being giving the same opportuntiy. I will not all someone to trash me or my company when it is them that has the problem.  Once a complaint is made in these RipOffReports, the only possible manner of resolving whether the complaint is legitimate of not is thorugh a Court verdict.  Obviously, that will be the final determination of who was right and who has been wrong here.  In this complaint, "Brenda never mentioned to me that I could not ask for an update and Allen has never told me IN PERSON that I could not ask for an update or he would stop the case."  I have numerous emails saying exactly that.
