We contacted CPI on September 3, 2013 about a promotion we saw online and we were interested in trying the service. The customer sales associate verified that the service would be 29.95 for the first 3 months and 49.95 for each month after. We asked the representative specifically if there were any other charges so that we could make sure to budget our account for the amount we would be charged and he stated no. The installer came on September 7, 2013 and installes the equipment after we paid 250.00 in installation/ equipment fees. On September 20, 2013 our first payment was auto drafted from our account for 80.00. We called to complain because the took out more than they claimed. The first representative said he didnt know where the charges were from so he transferred me to another. She stated that they charge a pro rated amount on the first bill as well as the monthly charge. I explained the representative never informed us of that. Also I asked why would the prorated amout be more that our normal bill. She responds that our monthly bill is 49.95. I explained to her about the special we had signed up for and she said they forgot to add the promotion to our account and that there isn't anything she can do about the amount taken out. So then we ask to cancel the service. She informs us we are in a 5 year contract that was printed in small writing in the corner of our work order. I informed her we were not aware of that and we had only had the service for 2 weeks and it is unfair to ask us to pay 2,800 to buy out our contract. We lost trust in their company and denied them access to our acvount for fear of them over charging us again and theu refuse to take back the equipment and end our services. Now they have collection agencies calling and threatening us unless we pay them. This is horrible horrible company that takes advantage of their customers and has no remorse.  We even got to the point where even though we feel it is unfair on our behalf we were willing to go with the contract and pay our monthly balance and continue on for the next 5 years if we are forced to but they refuse to reinstate or speak to us and refer us back to collections who again threaten to take us to court unless we pay the full balance. This is a horrible company and I hope that no one else is out in this situation because they do not disclose everything when you sign up for the service.
