I hate to see someone so bitter about an unfortunate situation. I can confirm that the "rebuttals" are not family members so that is an absolute "false" accusation. I have owned 3 of Craigs dogs and every single one of them has been healthy and lived a long wonderful life. I highly recommend these dogs , you will not regret your decision.

Craig Westergaard had his buyers put this on there, they are most likely his friends or his relatives....look how soon his first response was after the first two were done, Dah put 2 and 2 together!

Craig Westergaard only wants to state what he wants others to hear and believe of his so called best dogs out there on the market that nobody has, and that he does the best job ever raising them. Well, he will bash anybody he feels like. Lea does not have a kennel, nor does she even own one dog run, cage, or kennel either. She has 5 goldens of her own that are her family Pets in her house and yes and Craig Westergaard gave her full registration to breed them and he even paired them up together for breeding. Wow, he paired up dogs to her for crossbreeding which is also inline breeding, same grandfather on both sides. Well, if you contact Leah herself, she is totally against inline breedings, which how can anybody like Craig Westergaard even belong to AKC and GRCA doing that? Craig sold Lea a golden puppy and when she 14 mos old, she appeared to be the size of only a 4 month old golden with a tiny head, Craig stated there was nothing wrong with that to breed her to her Hunter that she bought from him with HIP DYSPLASIA. Lea and her husband in fact met him at Costco in Winston-Sale and RETURNED the dog back to him and his lover, it took Craig 6 mos. to replace Lea's dog, and when he did, she turned out to have HIP Dysplasia too. NEVER BUY FROM SUCH A BREEDER AS CRAIG WESTERGAARD, Westben/Gold Rush lines. He does NOT let you pick your own puppy out, he gives you what he wants to give you with medication when they leave his home as in SICK dogs. Lea Owns NONE OF HIS DOGS ANYMORE, SOLD BOTH & TOOK A LOSS ON THEM, AND NEVER WILL SHE OWN A DOG OR PUPPY FROM THIS AWFUL BREEDER CRAIG WESTERGAARD & HIS LOVER MIKE. LEA USES HER OWN PUPPY'S PICTURES ON HER SITE, AND ALSO HAS HIRED A ATTORNEY ON CRAIG FOR SLANDER. The best thing to do, is to go to Craig's and see how many dogs he has as he is running a puppy mill (most are behind doors and will not let you in there at all to see), and then go to Lea's and see her lovable wonderful pets that she owns without kennels, and you will see who is telling the truth and is NOT a PUPPY MILL. Also Craig bringing 10 dogs in at a time for OFA hips to Jack Miller's office in Charlotte, when Lea in fact has had 2 dogs there for her own dogs.....WHO IS THE PUPPY MILL? Lea does not use alias names or email address, she has her own personal email address from her family's, which there is nothing wroong with that at all whatsoever, I do the same thing.

Over the past fifteen years, we have purchased two of Craig's dogs and have never had any problems with them. Both of them were females and were healthy and loving pets. Two years ago, my daughter purchased "Little Salsa" from Craig. She was two years old. She is beautiful and one of the nicest Golden's you will ever meet. Whenever we are asked about the dog's, we highly recommend Westergard.

I purchased a puppy around 8 months ago from Craig. Elwood is the honestly one of the best dogs i have ever had. He has been 100% healthy so far. His temperment has always been calm (almost lazy) until you want him to play. I admit I thought it was a strange practice to send the dog home with medicine but then again the logic makes perfect sense. They are in a new enviroment and around new things and new germs (and bacteria). When a child starts school or daycare they are sick for the first few months almost constantly, I would assume the same goes for puppies going into a new home.

I am glad Craig took the high road and didnt realy respond to your personal attack. I will follow his good example.

I am Craig Westergaard of Westergaard Kennels. I am responding to the comments of Leah(Loxy) of Desert Sun golden retrievers. It is true that I sold Lea (She is using a alias name of Loxy) a few dogs. I know this because we have hired a attorney to stop her lies. We did sell her two beautiful goldens several years ago. She bought the male first and after being so happy with him came to get a female a year or so later. Both are lovely healthy dogs. We only sell our dogs as quality pets and Leah totally lied about her agenda with the dogs. She claimed that she was not a breeder and was only interested in them for her family pets. We found out a few years later that this was very far from the truth and she was a puppy producing kennel. For some reason Leah feels the need to lash out at not only myself but many other noted breeders. I can only assume that she does this to make herself look better. On top of everything she not only is trashing me and my reputation but is also breeding these dogs that she says have so many problems. She has also stole my photos that are copy written to sell her own puppies. In all my years of breeding dogs I have never ran into such a bizarre situation. She has never shown a golden and promotes herself on other peoples achievements. We have asked for proof of the claims she is making and she never provided them. And to top it off she is also claiming that in order to win at a dog show one must resort to reprehensible behaviors in order to achieve championships.How should someone respond to such outrageous comments? I thought long and hard about posting this here because I have never had to do this before. Leahs claims are totally false and dont really deserve my time. The bottom line is that Leah is totally being cruel and is violating not only my rights but is also violating the AKC and GRCA code of ethics. These offenses do result in the loss of those privileges. Her web site has already been removed because of there code of ethics.
