Beware of Crate Furniture/ Homespun Fashions LLC. On October 30, 2007, my company purchased furniture to assist in supporting the needs of mentally retarded adults from the company listed above.

A day or so after the furniture was purchased, Patty Johnson who is a representative of the company contacted me and assured me the order would be delivered November 29, 2007.

On November 27, 2007 Crate Furniture/ Homespun Furniture was contacted to find out what time the furniture would be delivered and when they are contacted at 1-800-627-5161 or 804-732-7445 you get a voicemail and you are asked to give detailed information and your call would be returned, so this was done.

November 29th came and went and NO FURNITURE.On November 29th a fax was sent to the company and several phone calls were made about furniture...NO RESPONSE.

On Dec. 4, 2007 we visited the 37 Bollingbrook Street, Petersburg, VA, which is their location to find out where the furniture is and why we didn't receive a phone call updating us on the status. Patty Johnson gave us the run around about fabric and it not being available until the 15th of JANUARY, but still wasn't able to give us a delivery date.
Patty Johnson asked us if we wanted to cancel the order and we said yes and she then asked us if we wanted a refund for the order in check or put back on credit card, we then asked for a check. Patty Johnson issued a check totaling the amount and we went to their bank to cash the check and the bank teller informed us the check couldn't be cashed due to signatures not matching.

Dec. 5, 2007, we went back to Crate Furniture/ Homespun Fashions LLC to inform them the check couldn't be cashed with the hopes to leave with a "good" check. Mark McCraken, the CEO of the company informs us he could not give us the money back at all, he said he couldn't even put the money back on the credit card. He explained to us the order was already in process and would have to charge us 30%, we said we're fine with that he could just deduct the 30% from the total amount of order and issue us a check and he said he couldn't do that we have to argue this issue with the credit card company.
