I paid $99 to start my case. $59 per month thereafter. I was promised they would get inaccuracies erased on my credit report. I paid for their services for many, many months.

They told me that they would keep sending letters to Transunion, Experian, and Equifax to dispute what creditors said about me owing money. Credit Attorney said that the credit bureau would send the creditor a letter demanding a response to allegation of an innaccurate report.

They said that they would continue this time after time until the company either gave up or forgot to respond within the allotted time. I received a letter from Transunion and Experian on the second attempt by credit atty to claim the amount owed was wrong. The bureaus informed me that it was fraudulent to continue this "dance." They said that they would no longer investigate the issue.

I contacted C.A. to cancel. They told me that the reason why I was not receiving any results was because the credit report that I sent them was old. They said that I needed to get new reports and everything would be fine. I told them that Transunion and Experian said that they would not continue to investigate. They replied by saying that they were a law firm and knew the rules.
Transunion and Experian are neutral in all of this so why would they lie to me?

I asked for a refund on the money that I had just paid (keep in mind that I paid $99 for the 1st month before I received any services.)Of course they said I get no refund because it was a set up fee. AHA. The client learns at the end of service that there is a set up fee.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

3-Bureau involvement

AUTHOR: Derek - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 15, 2009

As a note of interest, the credit bureaus whom Credit Attorney sends disputes to; Experian, Equifax and Trans Union, are not "neutral", as you stated. The letters you received are simple "stall letters". Those are standard letters sent out in response to almost every dispute they receive, regardless of who sends it.

The purpose of those letters was accomplished masterfully. You called CA and canceled immediately. Most people think that is what they should do. The truth is, unless you continue to pursue the credit bureaus, you will not see success.

Those companies make their money by selling your credit information; the types of credit you have and, more importantly, your credit score. That is their main focus. The only reason they will investigate inaccurate accounts (keep in mind, roughly 70%) of Americans have some form of inaccuracies on their credit reports) is because they are required to do so by Federal law.

They do not want to investigate your credit file. However, they do so as required by law. But they do not always send a letter stating the result of their investigation. Instead, they send you a stall letter, hoping you will cease any further disputes.

Credit Attorney was right to tell you that they needed to receive an updated credit report. That would have allowed them to compare the newest credit report (which was probably updated by the credit bureaus, but they simply did not inform you) to the original ones you sent them. In turn, they would have been able to show you the changes to your report.

Quite honestly, the task of "repairing" your credit reports is daunting. It does take time; the most successful clients I dealt with were probably with the company around 12-18 months, but they would see dozens of negative accounts removed from their credit reports and thus, increasing their credit scores substantially.

The service does work, if only given the proper time and effort. The credit bureaus, simply put, are lazy when it comes to disputes. Companies like Credit Attorney do work with you to get the bureaus to get the job done so you can move on with your life.
