ATT&T Universal Credit Card Credit Protector Department Offered a free trial for 30 days,if cancelled within the 30 days there would be no obligation or charge. I cancelled and they charged me anyway and now they will not refund me $442.00. They say they checked there recorded messages and could not find my cancellation call. I know I called within the 30 days because the young man I talked to said "Why are you canceling so early you still have 2 weeks of free service" he then spent 20 minutes trying to sell me another policy for less money I finally just had to hang up. I have called, written letters and all I get is a letter from S Larson stating the fees are Valid and non refundable. Let's face it this is a scam. They make the free offer hoping you will forget to cancel and they can take advantage of you. If you do call to cancel they can say "Well, we can't find your call on our tapes". Who knows if they even tape the calls.

You hung up

You hung up on the person who was cancelling the account because he was trying to sell you another service; that is why your account was not cancelled. Those companies do try to keep your service and it does get annoying but what you should have done was stopped his sales pitch and told him to just cancel your account. When you terminated the call you terminated the cancelation process also.
If you were annoyed enough to hang up on the first person you should have called back and cancelled the account with another person. I know this stinks but you should not have hung up and not called back.
This company does bear some responsiblity but you also bear some of it too. If you were annoyed enough to hang up on the first person you should have called back and cancelled the account with another person
