Last week, I received a mail from some credit card company. I opened the letter and read what it was printed. I guess it sounded too good to be true but under so much stress with money, I went ahead and signed up for their credit card though the phone. I gave them my bank account number (stupid me) and all other typical info like address and number.
Some days later, I received their credit card, two of them. The envelope was torn open though so I thought someone wrote down my number so altogther, I figured I dont want the cards anymore so I called them up and told them that I dont want the cards anymore. They kept shoving me down with so many deals like "how about this, if money is an issue for you I will bring it down from $199 to $113 for your activation fees. [insert more sh*t]...". This person was doing everything they can to convince me to stay.
I have never heard such desperate begging from this person for a worker at a credit card company in my life. At the end, I kept telling this person "...NO..." and then the person told me to hold on while she gets her superviser to cancel my account so she puts me on hold. After a good 15 minutes they hung up on me. WTF. I called them afterward but they are not picking up my calls. I tried again today and no luck. They probably have some phone ID just to know who is calling them.
A few hours after the whole ordeal, I researched the card and found this site. Thanks you guys. The credit card company is indeed doing scams on people. I was suprised and at the same time relieved that I found this site. I quickly changed my bank account to another. I dont know how safe that will be since from what i have read from other reports they have a way to find out about our info.
I am so mad that i am gathering more info before i report this to the FBI. I dont care who they are but they are getting away with it for TOO LONG!
please what else should i do??? any support from anyone would make me feel better. thanks
