My husband and I pulled a credit report.
on his credit report we found a company called " credit solutions corp"
puzzled, I called them.
They didnt even verify who i was and started " rattling off" what they were trying to " collect on".
I told them that we had no idea what they were talking about that i wanted to see an original contract of what they were attempting to collect on.
( it should be noted that the original creditor to what they were alledgedly collecting on reports that account with a ZERO balance)
I was advised by the woman on the other end of the phone that I wanted the original contract, that we were disputing this account entirely.
She proceeded to tell me it would take a " few days" to get it.
then she proceeded to tell me that i needed to speak with that " account representative"
okay...so now i am referred to josh or jason ( i got who was who mixed up at this point)
one of them is an account manager, the other a supervisor.
josh or jason says...so lets " talk some numbers" and i said we are disputing this and we have requested the original contract be sent to us. uh...umm..hold on a minute. On comes a supervisor......
The supervisor begins with me on the phone by rattling off this much money is owed..etc..
so i say to him...as i have told the two employees before you, i want the contract.
The supervisor tells me that he is filing a 1099C. I said okay whatever, i want the contract. He said okay i will fax it right over to you.
I told him i was on my way out for a fax printer cartridge but yes i wanted it, i would call them back as soon as i got back.
he hung up, but not without " threating me" by saying we are filing a 1099c.
fast forward to the same day two hours later...
i call back, once again transferred to the so called account manager who tells me it will be faxed over in fifteen minutes.
I told him i would call him back in half hour if i didnt hear from him.
of course you know i didnt hear, no fax, no nothing.
I call back....the " supervisor" is in a meeting because as he explained to me " they have hired new people and he is meeting with them" .....we will get the contract to you first thing in the morning.
I asked about the 1099C ( after i called the IRS and got the specifics, timelines etc...) and he said yeah he said they are going to file it and no i was not entitled to a copy of it!!!
I said well according to the IRS there is a deadline coming up soon and you are required by law to furnish me with a copy within 10 days.....
umm..well...i dont know if they are going to file it....
well when you get the contract we ARE going to talk numbers right and i said ABSOLUTELY NOT, i want the contract.
and i want a copy of the 1099c that your supervisor said he was absolutely filing.
needless to say we have heard nothing to date.
we have never been contacted by this company, notified that this company held an alleged debt in my husband name, no notice no nothing and YET they have pulled my husband credit report twice just in the past three months!! bringing down his credit score!
HELP!!!!!
there has to be something done about this.

As you can tell talking on the phone, doesn't get anything done.
Dispute, the debt with this collection company and all three credit bureau's, from the credit bureau's you want them, to send you all the information they used to validate this debt.
read thru some of the posts here and you'll get a general ideal, on what to write, file complaints with the attorney general in your state, and the state this collection agency and the FTC, in your complaint, state that they placed a collections account without contacting you first, how thus far refused to validate this claim, the threats of the IRS, they won't even tell you who the original creditor is.
just know they will back date there files and claim you were sent, a notice
