I was impulsive, didn't follow my gut and signed up for a one dollar credit report despite the fact that the company was unfamiliar, and the fact that their terms of use seemed excessively detailed and scary in their "limitations of liability." I figured I'd copy down all the information I could, including two cancellation and refund addresses, and that would cover my... assure against fraud. Oh well. A string of unauthorized charges followed, some of which were from an affiliate company "Your Savings Club", whose services I had EXPRESSLY declined. Incidentally, the disclaimer on that site is even scarier, and practically states their rip-off status outright. It covers their denial of responsibility to deliver any goods or services, plus any responsibility for los of assets, data, or damage to your computer. Wow. I've cancelled the card, and filed an affadavit with my bank. I hope that's the end of it, or at least the end of the part where I feel even poorer and more foolish than I did before I tried to look into credit repair....
