I ordered this service last year because of a lot of bogus information on my credit report, thinking this would be a good way to keep tabs on it... Nothing much happened until the last few months when I began getting all kinds of notifications in email but found I couldn't log on.

I contacted customer support and got nowhere so I stated then I didn't want to renew this service since it was basically useless. Low and behold my bank was charged for this service anyway. I emailed them about it only to find that I couldn't cancel this by email, only by phoning customer support.

I contacted customer support again and this is where the whole thing becomes fraudulent. You can't cancel this service except during the amorphous 3 day grace period at renewal time: EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT ASKING FOR YOUR MONEY BACK.

I never received notfication of renewal from them in the first place. I checked my bank records against the emails I was receiving to find out when it was up for renewal. A month before it was up for renewal I told them I didn't want to renew this service and why. They didn't tell me then that I couldn't cancel except during that 3 day grace period.

I think someone else here wrote about getting a message their account did not exist. Not once in all this has anyone addressed

In addition to this problem of a bogus service that I will be paying for into infinity unless I change my bank information to prevent them(that from the dispute dept of my bank), I have found that other things are showing up on my credit reports that weren't there prior to obtaining this service. My husband and I have been attempting to buy a house so we have current reports right now which were not obtained through this service, of course.

Another incidentally, creditreport.com is a subsidiary of Mighty Net, Inc which has a brick and mortar office with different phone numbers. Call their number and you get the same customer support person who answers for creditreport.com for creditreports 1-800 number. Physical information for this business is:

Mighty Net, Inc.
9040 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
Second Floor
Canoga Park, CA 91304
(818) 407-4620 Phone
(818) 407-4630 Fax

website: http://www.mightynet.com

Although I can't say it with absolute certainty, I would suspect their other services to just as fraudulent. Since finding ripoff report.com I've noticed that an inordinate number of "tough to deal with" businesses are located in California. Does anyone else wonder about that?

They're still RIPPING people off!

AUTHOR: Sammy - (U.S.A.)

I ran a credit report for the owner of the company I work for. I attempted to cancel the BS monthly charges - creditreport.com REFUSED to stop charging my card! They said the owner of the company would have to call to cancel. I said - WHY SHOULD HE CALL? IT IS MY CREDIT CARD! So I have initiated a chargeback with my credit card company - something I should not have needed to do if this was a legitimate, decent company. Amazing that CREDITreport.com is RIPPING people off via their CREDIT cards. I guess I will have to wait TWO YEARS for a response creditreport.com to this rip off report.

Doesn't matter anymore.

This happened well over 2 years ago. Kind of a little late in the day to fix it, isn't it? I used my bank to not only get my money back but also to prevent further charges and haven't heard from anyone since, until now.
