I upgraded my previous flip phone I had with Cricket for around five years to a newer flip phone in September 2014. I was told by the Cricket customer service representative that AT&T had bought them out and now they are NEW and IMPROVED Cricket with 4G service and the rate plans had been reduced. Sound good, right? All I do is basic talk and some texting. The first irritation was that I was never informed that Cricket had changed over and been bought out by AT&T and that the rate plan I was on had reduced in the price. So all this past year or more, I've been paying a HIGHER rate than what the new reduced rate was. So they'd been happily charging my account each month automatically at the rate plan I had been paying for the past five years which was higher than their new rate plan. Okay, so I'm told my new rate plan is $25.00 and with my automatic pay, I get $5.00 off so my monthly plan would be $20.00 per month. Sounded good to me and it was a savings from my previous plan. I buy a different flip phone and get all upgraded and everything transferred over. I was told I was on 4G network now. So I start using my phone and notice my phone kept saying 3G on it. So I call Cricket to find out why that is and I'm told that my phone doesn't work on the 4G, it only works on the 3G! My NEW phone mind you. Then I start getting a lot of dropped calls. I rarely ever had that with my previous phone on the OLD Cricket, as they refer to it. This was a continuous reoccuring issue. Plus this new phone's battery I was having to charge every two days when my previous phone's battery would last up to five days before it needed recharging. I hadn't changed my talk amount time because it is only my Mom and I who talk on the phone. So that hadn't changed. I did research on this new phone and found out it is crap. A lot of negative reviews on the phone, its features and its battery life. A poor quality phone by LG. So I get a text from Cricket stating my bill is coming due and that $25.00 would be taken out of my account. I was like, wait a minute, I was told with my auto pay, my bill would be $20.00 a month with the $5.00 discount. So I call Cricket's customer service and they tell me that the $25.00 rate plan does not get the auto pay discount. What?! That is not what I was told at the store. So they tell me there is nothing they can do. What again????! I proceed to tell them the problems with the phone and other issues I was "inaccurately" told and was told to return to the Cricket store where I upgraded. So I did. Repeat myself to them for the sixth time. The customer rep there was cold, callous, and said there was nothing they could do. Because I didn't return the phone within 7 days, I'm stuck with it. They would not refund me or give me any sort of credit. Said they can't do it. Asked who can, I was told I had to call the 611 customer service #. Did that, they told me the same thing - nothing they can do! Seems there is no top dog who can do anything about anything! I told them I wanted my account closed and wanted nothing to do with Cricket ever again and I wanted a credit back of the $25.00 they just charged me for the next month's service. Said they couldn't do that. They shut off my service and kept my payment for the next month's service which I'm not getting now! How can they do that? I had heard AT&T had been sued because they were charging customers more than they were supposed to so now they are hiding under the guise of Cricket since they bought Cricket out and now they are NEW and supposed to be improved Cricket but instead they are lying deceitful ripping customers off stealing from them Cricket. There needs to be a lawsuit filed against them. Does anyone know who has a current suit or claim against them as I would like to join in on the action class lawsuit because they stoled from me a month's worth of service I'm not getting and a phone I paid for that is a piece of junk. Now I have no phone service at all. I am angry and this is not the way to provide a service to customers. Their customer service sucks. To tell a customer there is nothing they can do is ridiculous. The gal at the Cricket store was so cold and callous and wasn't even sorry for the poor service I received. She clearly cared less.

No to who responded. Cricket lied about everything to me when I upgraded. Number one lie: Your new flip phone will work on 4G network. Not true. Only works on 3G. Lie #2: Your rate plan is $25.00 and with automatic pay, you get the $5.00 discount each month making my monthly rate plan at $20.00. Not true. Lie #3: There is nothing we can do about helping you. Call 611 customer service. Call 611 customer service and they tell you there is nothing they can do either. Lie #4: AT&T bought us out and we are now new and improved Cricket. Not true. Cricket customers were never informed that AT&T was buying them out and that the rate plans had changed. So for the past year, I've been paying a higher rate plan for basic text and talk when they had reduced that rate plan to $25.00. They were happy to continue collecting my money at a higher rate plan because I never knew and was never informed that they had been bought out. I called them on it and their comment was, "Oh that was old Cricket. Now we are new and improved Cricket". What crap! Over the past five years under "old" Cricket, I rarely had a dropped call. I was very pleased wtih them. Under "new" Cricket when I upgraded in September, I constantly had dropped calls.
The LG flip phone is a piece of junk as well. Battery doesn't hold a charge for longer than two days. My previous Motorola phone held a charge upto five days. When I did research, after purchasing this phone, it has nothing but bad reviews. The phone is crap. Cricket has poor customer service. When I went into the Cricket store on Saturday, the rep didn't care to hear anything I had to say. Her family walks in and her complete attention turns to them WHILE she is supposed to be assisting me on work-time! That is poor.
Then on top of everything, I closed my account on the 22nd and they charged my account the $25.00 for the next month's service, which I no longer have an account with them so I'm not using the service. So now I've had to file a fraud complaint with my credit card to get these charges back because again, according to Cricket, there is nothing they can do. That is crap. You go to the store to trust these sales reps and be informed and believe that they are telling you the truth and instead what I got was one lie after another unknowingly until two months into the service, all of these problems kept popping up and when I would contact them on each issue, the response was there is nothing we can do. Read up about AT&T. They've been sued previously for over charging customers and deceiving them. So now they bought Cricket and are still doing the same deceptive illegal things under the guise of Cricket now. Beware. I know in time, they will get sued again. And Cricket will go under. They used to be a good cellular company under Leep but they are no more.

So what YOU are whining about is that THEY just did not give you your way and THAT is all. Are you an adult?? Everything that YOU have dealt with is COMMON SENSE!!! a FLIP PHONE doesnt HAVE THE NEEDED EQUIPTMENT TO GO ON 4G SO all FLIPPHONES ARE 3g. Then when its found out that YOU dont qualify for the added discount since YOU are ONLY paying 25$. YOU want them to give you a pass and do what YOU want even though they tell you they cannot. YOU are a self entitled dillhole with a SERIOUS problem. YOU expect everyone to give you YOUR way even though YOU do not deserve it. Get over yourself and do the whole world a favor and get over yourself.
